MN doesn't close officially until April 1st. And up there, I've ridden well into April if there's snow.

If they get the 8"+, it will definitely be rideable for a couple days, just not groomed.

We were up there last weekend and the trails will be OK this weekend if the snow comes. Forest roads were excellent last weekend and will only be better this weekend I'd imagine.

Stayed in Silver Bay March 11-12. Had to trailer to Finland as no snow in Silver Bay. First day on mostly state trail was pretty good but inside corners and exposed areas were bare. Second day left Finland and headed to Isabella area and a little more snow but rough and coming back late in the day the state trail was really falling apart fast. Heard Gunflint had better snow. If they get their forecasted 14" today definitely ridable for the die-hards with maybe the last ride of the season.

Looks like there is a possibility that the Tomahawk trail will be groomed after this snow. According to the Knotted pine site, the local club will groom from Knotted pine to the NSST if they get 8" or more. The State has already said they are done grooming the NSST, so less chance of that getting done

They had several inches of rain before snow so will be interesting how things will look with new snow.We rode grand portage trails and all was good but creek crossings were gettting hard if not impossible to cross.talked with some guys that had rode gunflint on saturday and conditions were bad and with no grooming will be rough.Yes im sure its rideable but will be tough going.stay finland and north. If not for girls bb state tournament this weekend I would give it a go.

If I was 25 again, not married with a 3 year old, my boy and I would be there for sure! Forrest roads, a couple beers, no one around, warm out. Best ride of the year. If all possible go ride!

They say they ended up with 14" in Finland. Since temps are going to be cooler all week and below freezing every night myself and some friends are going up Easter weekend to ride. Should still be fine then.

I'm guessing it means riding trails, diamond shaped orange blazers I would guess. If that's not it I have no idea then.
