Left Danbury Friday morning with temps below 0. Fresh groomed trails throughout Burnett county and over into Washburn. Took corridor 8 all the way east to Hayward. Stayed in an Airbnb on Nelson Lake, fish fry at Weber's supper club was great. Saturday morning took corridor 31 north up to Drummond and Iron River. This section of trail was incredibly fun. Lots of snow, low traffic, great mix of wide sweeping roads and woods. Once in Iron River took the grade along highway 2 all the way over to Ashland. Made a stop at the infamous plywood palace. Coming back into Iron River we had a sled go down with broken rollers in the secondary. Friend and I continued back to Hayward for the night and grabbed some good pizza at Outback bar. Sunday morning made the trip back to Danbury. Washburn county trails were very rough and snirty, but once we got to Burnett things were fresh groomed albeit a little thin on snow. 420 miles for the weekend, been wanting to do a trip like this for some time! Not sure how certain areas will hold up in the coming weeks, but enjoy it while you can.
