ezra I agree with you 100% but like old abe said, there are other factors that play into it too. For me, I have been able to get an OEM belt at a good price and get good mileage out of it. If those things were not happening I would be looking elsewhere. Also in my case, I had issues with the aftermarket, and I admit could have been a fluke. As with my Craftsman snowblower tractor attachment, the main belt from Craftsman was almost $100 and the secondary belt was $50. I picked both belts up from V-Belt Global Supply for $23.97. At that price I bought extra, but I have not had any issue yet... Unfortunately no sled belts... LOL

who here honestly thinks they are manufacturing belts at any oem?
rebranded all of them . who do you think is making them for the oem?

Agree ezra. But the OEM's are built to the sleds MFR specs. And they are somewhat different such as compounds, angles, length, costs, and so forth. I am not implying they are one bit better than the replacement branded belts.

Dayco used to produce many aftermarket belts under various brands/names. Again, some had differences, some the very same other than the name. I used to purchase a generic brand belt from a power sports parts supply that was the exact same as the premium Dayco at that time. And it was @ 60% of the cost. Just a different name on the sleeve. You could actually see this in the parts catalog belt code #'s. The same again except for prefix letters. For the high performance guys, very small differences in cut angle, length, width, compounds, and cords, will result in different performance, and durability levels in the higher powered sleds. This could be huge with today's high performance/high powered sleds imo. I am long past those days!!!
