yah i remember the flags on sleds back in the 70's. always wondered what was up with that.

Love that chaparral!! I have two 72 chaps and still get out on the a few times a year. Great shots!!!

The 72 was by far my favorite Chap, with the big open hood scoop and the "snake fang" dual pipes coming out of the front of the pan. Mine had a really sweet running Fuji 400 but unlike Polaris, it had a belt driven fan.

Many, many years after these photos were taken I bought a pair of 74's from a scrapper and actually got both of them back on the trail but for various reasons I wound up selling them.

You're very lucky to have a pair of these 72 beauties.

Also, I think we should all run flags next year :)

My first sled was a '70-'72 Chap 440 that my dad took the 440 to put in his smaller chassis 292. He put the 292 in my(and mom's) machine. I loved that sled. Could lift the seat for storing just about anything (like dad's smaller sled). Had many years of fun on that. Wish I still had it.
