HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Squat - prayers for Misty continue!

We are in Rapid City SD. On our way home from Burgess Junction WY in the big blizzard - they closed I90 from East of Rapid City, SD all the way to Sioux Falls, SD until further notice. Sooooooo we got help from Andie finding a hotel for the night. We will stay here til they open the road. Hopefully we will be home sometime Saturday night.

The kids and Doug are down at the pool having a BLAST! It has a 100 foot water slide. I talked Doug into going down it... what a riot!

Our stay in Burgess Junction WY was amazing. SO BEAUTIFUL!! The riding there has something for everyone. I do not have the physical ability or the skills to do some of the deep powder stuff - but that will come with practice and dropping the pounds. The climbing stuff is just not my thing. It's just too scary. I did climb up to the top of part of one mountain - was beautiful - but the higher ones were just too scary.

The thin air wreaked havoc with my asthma - so I was not able to ride for 2 of the 4 days. Which was fine... I didn't want to prevent the guys from having fun. The days I did ride I had a blast, the days I stayed back I had fun talking with all the other folks at the lodge.

The boys had a BLAST! The last day of riding, Dylan and Dustin were highmarking with Jim's 1000 Summit and my Revegade, BOTH of them rolled the sleds at the top of the highmark! The kids were not hurt, Jim's 1000 Summit has a broken side panel and windshield. I was thankful that I wasn't on that ride... I would have had my final heart attack! They came back with the grand stories - that's all I needed!! :) :)

The first day Dylan slid off the side of the trail, slid down about 4 feet into a boulder and flipped up and over the handle bars. He wasn't hurt at all, I on the other hand nearly had a heart attack watching that unfold infront of me! THANK GOD we were not on the edge of the mountain, just on the edge of a meadow IN the mountain.

Doug's 800 Summit blew a bolt the 2nd day, so Jim rented a sled from the lodge... a Polaris RMK - both he and Doug hated it. THANK GOD!

Revegade lost his windshield... Dylan was riding it and got stuck, they had to roll the sled over to get it unstuck, snapping off the windshield. OH WELL!

The last day of riding was the toughest for the guys, thankfully we had all the full face helmets with us, the temps were below zero and the windchill was horrible. Even with the full face helmet, Dustin came back with a pretty nasty frost bite on his cheek and neck. Hopefully it will heal up nice for him, if not he has a heck of a story as to how he got it!

This vacation has taken the top spot for vacations! We NEEDED this vacation and it was amazing.

Now.... we need to get home, get Doug's sled fixed, finish the track on Dustin's sled and get ready for the RIDE IN!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2010 was the year of recovery for us... a lot of changes that we have to get used to... Jim is officially self employed and I am back and Best Buy as a contractor, praying for a permanent position. The boys are doing great in school and have become very responsible young men - taking on lots of extra responsibilities when Jim is on the road.

Thank you all for your support - it means more to me than I can say.

LOVE FROM MINNESOTA!!!

REV IT UPx3!
