Do it. You wont regret it. Hope to meet you this weekend. I hear the group is going to be riding this Sat. Convincing the wife to move to paradise should not be to difficult. The hardest part is moving away from family and friends. IF you need some help with the move, you have my #. Always willing to help a fellow JDer.

Well I have been watching this thread for quite a long time and very rarely post but tonight I have to jump on and ask a question of you good folks.
I am very seriously thinking of taking the family (wife and 2 teenage daughters) up to the UP to have some "family" time away from the hustle and bussel of the Chicago area. I recall some of you in the past have stayed in either Hancock or Haughton at a nice hotel that has easy trail access, pool and hot tub. Can anyone recommend a place to stay where we can go out and have some fun both during the day and in the evenings? BTW my daughters are 18 and 19yrs old.

Thanks alot,
Wags, (Dan)

Hey Wags!! We stay at the Ramada (going on 10 years now!): http://www.ramadahancock.com/, which has the most awesome Suite! They have hot tub, pool, a nice restaurant, a really fun bar and a great FREE breakfast in the morning. The Suite has a jacuzzi and a kitchen with a little frig and microwave, sink and dishes, a kitchen table and chairs. There is two queen beds - UBER comfy, a couch and rocker chair in the "livingroom" area. Trail access is right along the parking lot!

We have also stayed at the http://www.countryinns.com/houghton-hotel-mi-49931/mihought?s_cid=L14813959 - Super nice place. Good free breakfast, pool, hot tub, good rates. The trail access is a bit more complicated... unless they have that all figured out now (it's been a while since we stayed there!). There is also a Holiday Inn Express - again... all the pool, hot tub and food... but the trail access is iffy.

Have a BLAST!!!

REV IT UPx3!

I have had the Blah's for awhile now, pretty much since after christmas, just not real excited about anything, prolly has to do with crappiest winter I have ever seen, its nice getting out on the bike got almost 800 miles on it, but still just not real excited, thought maybe spending the weekend in Marquette would help, but not much, it was nice to get away and spend some time with the kid but just felt bored. Just seemed like winter never happened.

Hey Brad,

Get excited, life is great! Crappy winter, there's always next year. Keep the positive thoughts in your head and all will be good.

I always have to tell myself that I am thankful that I am able to put two feet on the floor everyday, open my eyes and see my family and everything
the world has to offer...the only unfortunate thing to that is the dumbazzes come for free too, lol.

Take care and have an AWESOME day!
