Official laurium glacier meltdown contest

I remember growing up in a small farming town in Wisconsin, where the most exciting things to do in the summer was listen to the corn grow!

Guess the most exciting thing to do in the UP in the spring is watch snow melt:D

Just for comparison purposes....I remember a bunch of years ago, taking a "sunday" drive up in the Huron Mountains on a well maintained summer road and having to get out and push to get unstuck from a big drift that had still not melted yet. It was Mothers day.....and this was not any glacier...just a drift. I had a rear wheel drive machine and gave it a hard run, but didn't quite make it thru....

True, it does, but it's also sitting right out there in the sun, while the Laurium Glacer is in a bit more of a protected location; I woulda' thought that would make the difference!

Actually, the Laurium Glacier pretty much catches the full sun too. Might be a bit shaded in the early morning, but otherwise catches full sun.

I saw a few small patches of snow on the side of the road when I was up in the UP this weekend.... at least I thought it was snow as I drove by.
