Official rainfall amount?

I'm trying to see if my weather station is accurate or not. It is a unit that I can calibrate as well. I think the amounts it is giving is a little high, and i'd like to calibrate it to a known source. Is there a source for rainfall by day for a Wisconsin Zip of 53590?

Rainfall during this season can vary quit a bit, even block to block, so I think the best thing to do would be to get an inexpensive manual gauge (basically a small catch basin you stick into the ground). Use it to match up with your automated gauge on your station. I would not be too concerned with calibrating beyond a 10th of an inch or so, as the instruments do have a margin of error as well.
