PLUM LAKE, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wisconsin DNR is investigating a deadly snowmobile crash township of Plum Lake, Vilas County.
At 7:04 p.m. on Saturday, Vilas County 911 Center received a call of a snowmobiler who had hit a tree along the shoreline of Star Lake near Rearing Pond Rd.
When first responders arrived on scene and took the victim to a helicopter landing zone staging area. Crews attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful and the snowmobiler was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the deceased is not being released pending complete notification of the family.
The incident is being investigated by WI DNR.
Additional units responding included Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle River Ambulance, MED 5, Plum Lake EMS, Plum Lake Fire, Vilas County Medical Examiner, and WI Department of Natural Resources
