As expected...conditions deteriorated over the weekend....Trails went from Excellent to Fair in 3 days....the railroad grade is Fair to Poor (worse towards town)...Heavy traffic, and warm temps did a lot of damage to the trails....wooded trails held up better, but still took a hit..the lakes are getting slushy in spots.
It's UGLY right now, and the forecast isn't great...they've back off snow fall totals for Wednesday, and it looks to be mostly a RAIN event for all but the far northern part of Wisconsin...but they still really don't have a handle on the track yet....so it's a holding pattern for us....wait and see what we get....Rain will hurt us badly...let's hope they are wrong....my sled is going back to the garage TFN

Lots of uncertainty in the forecast for the next 10 days. Some models show a fair amount of snow while others not so much. Today and tomorrows updates should give us a better idea if we will see snow I hope.

Thanks for the update was expecting this and fingers crossed we do get some more snow but we are with you parking the sleds TFN. Was the best season in a few years so very happy with the amount of awesome trails we were able to ride this year and the miles we logged. If we don't get out anymore this season we will be thankful for what it was.

Nws and local weather guys have pretty much taken most of the snow for this area out of the forecast...it's too warm.....it's going to be mostly rain/freezing rain...with maybe an inch of snow for late tonight through noon Wednesday....they are saying we might see snow Thursday night into Friday...but are not putting totals on it at this point.....they simply don't know....so I guess we'll see...but not looking great right now

I have a cabin south of Pelican Lake and this doesn't sound good. Darn weather... the last number of years, it snows good, things open, then it warms up to the point of disaster. I snowmobiled the earliest I ever have in Brown Co last Dec for 1 day and it all melted... This stinks.

Update...I had an appointment north of minocqua today...roads were awful..we had about a 1/2 inch of snow over night, and then it rained..we have a slushy mess in and around the Tomahawk area...zero help for our trails what so ever...still lightly raining as I write this...HOWEVER...from just north and northwest of minocqua to lac du flambeau they got 3 to 4 inches of snow (even more the further north you go)...heavy, wet stuff...and right now the yoop is getting pounded...if you are planning to ride this weekend I'd go minocqua and north..with cooler temps expected, they got enough heavy wet snow that with a little grooming, the trails up there might be really good by the weekend...we just didn't get enough snow on the southern end(Rhinelander/Tomahawk areas)of Oneida County ....we needed what minocqua and to the north got over night to fix our trails....didn't happen...but there is some hope for snow here from Thursday night through Saturday..possible 3 to 6...but the weather guys don't know the track of the system yet, and are all over the place with the forecast...if the temp dips and we get that snow, things could change quickly back in our favor here on the southern end of the county..keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping for the best...but as of right now the ugly melting continues.
