The recent snow helped trails alot over the weekend.....we did get anywhere from 4-7 inches across a very narrow area of the Northwoods Thursday into Friday...and then it just kept snowing...we received about 2 inches of Fluff Saturday into Sunday, and another inch of fluff yesterday. Its also been cold...lows in the single digits...we have a chance for some more snow tomorrow (1-3inches)....the clubs have been out and grooming, and with the fresh snow, and cooler temps the trails should hold up well, and be in very nice shape for the weekend....there is only one day in the next 7 day forecast where the high temp is above average..so things are looking good as we head into march....keep in mind there is still a bit of ice in the corners, and some snirty spots in the high traffic areas, and railroad grades...otherwise it's really nice out there. (watch your speed in the corners)......Stay on the marked trail on Lake Nokomis...lots of ice heaves, and holes..if stay close to the barrels you'll be fine...also..fish trap hill is very icy (the wind swept it clean)...I recommend, you go around, and use the trail, you will go backwards down the hill if you don't have studs.

Started snowing at 11:30 am....already about an inch...but supposed to be ending by 1:30...so we might end up with a couple of inches....snow forecast for the end of the week is going to go well south of here...so this is it for the week for us

I think it's supposed to be in the 40's Friday, I hope everything survives.
Trails are excellent right now...it was 2 above at my house at 6 am....the warm weather tomorrow shouldn't hurt it....temps are going to drop over the weekend, and even with heavy traffic the clubs should be able to groom and keep things decent through the middle of next week.......however the 10 day forecast has me worried ....temps in the mid to upper 30s, and potential rain/freezing....of course it's too far out for any accuracy at this point.....but rain and warm temps will put an end to these trails quickly. Let's hope they are wrong, and the temps cool a bit, because then we may see some wet snow....and things will hold out longer up here...I guess we'll see...but I'd definitely ride this weekend and early next week if you can

We've got a 4' base here in the Keweenaw, 40 degrees on Friday won't put a dent in this. Cold returns on Saturday so no biggy.

Mezz - supposed to come up Mar 5 and ride Mar 6-8, seeing weather FC for rain/freezing rain/ice on the 7th & 8th. I know it's far out yet, but are they mentioning that up in your neck of the woods?

That is a little too far out for reliability, however, the temps projected for Mar 2-4 are currently looking to be in the 30's during the day with night time temps in the 20's with 0 precip in that timeframe. Again a little far out for reliability, things can change quickly, but, no lack of snow cover here.

Appreciate the context. I will likely reach back out next week as we get closer. It's not the snow cover I'm worried about, it's the rain/freezing rain currently being thrown out there. Hopefully that disappears as we get closer.

Thanks again!
