What's with this latest craze?
Concelled is my mode of operation. No sense in stirring up anxiety. What is your thoughts. See these guys and wonder of wrapped tight or just nuts.

I do it quite often. It is a perfectly legal way to exercise your 2nd amendment right without having to spend all the money on a CPL, although having a CPL makes OC easier and also OC with a CPL allows you to carry in places that are off limits to concealed carry.

Would you please explain how this all works.
There was a big open carry event recent in GH And I got an invite to a meeting.

Many of the places listed on the back of your CPL as "off limits" can be open carried in as long as you have your CPL, for instance a hospital is off limits to carry concealed in, but if you have your CPL you can openly carry there (as long as there is no posting prohibiting "weapons").

I would encourage you to do some reading on the Michigan Open Carry forum.

Not sure if it is worth the hassle or the issues open carry creates. Can you imagine the chatter at church if I open carried there this morning. Not out to scare the pretty choir girls. Kilometers

I like open carry makes the off tilt guy think twice before opening fire on a crowd.

To me having the ability to defend my life is never a hassle. Not really sure what "issues" you think it will create as its perfectly legal and most people don't even give you a second look. I'm not out to scare anyone either, I'm out to enjoy my day and exercise my 2A rights while having the ability to defend myself, and sometimes I get the opportunity to educate people about open carry.

Spot on. I carry concealed a Glock 27 every single day without exception. Just not worth the headache to me to open carry. I'm not interested in the shock factor and eliciting responses from people that some open carry advocates are after. I just want to be able to quietly protect myself and my family. I have a plethora of different holsters that are comfortable and easily concealable.

great post, I like the way you think. Open carry is acceptable in Mi and to each their own, personally concealed appeals to me

Never carried a concealed or open carry in my life but I would defend someones rights to do so. If its legal then I see no problem with it.

Visited my parents this past weekend and my uncle stopped by. While eating breakfast at the 'Dog' a few weeks ago, he said he saw a guy with an AK strapped across his back walking downtown Houghton. He notified the city police and they said they knew about him, and does it quite frequently. If you want to open carry, I say go for it. If you want to conceal carry, that's great too. Open carry does bring with it, the issue of public perception that you're a whack-job. But it's 'Merica people...it's your right to be a whack-job if you so choose!
