March 18-23. Three of us for starters. In mountain riding skill levels, I have been out west twice and ride off trail frequently. One other guy out west once and off trail somewhat. And the third is my 20 year old son very inexperienced, he will probably get hurt. Looking forward to deep snow. The Flatlanders video looks great.

I will be out there March 5-10th

I am seriously thinking on adding the second April Ten Mile trip. If my wife doesn't kill me..

If they have a snow year like last season, it is a great way to top off a season, I'm on the first April trip, last year we had over 3 feet of fresh snow while we were there, awesome trip, awesome area, and awesome lodge hosts. Pic is from Last season, April 6th.

I watched Mom's Flatlanders video. I think that was filmed during that trip. Did I see your sled stuck in the video.

Most likely, also in the Island Park segment, You will find it Parked in a treewell:eek:

Kev, also had done it at Cooke but camera man was also stuck over the hill so no documentation on that one. Lol Looks like this year we will be filmed on up to seven trips as the directors rumor as told to me by him.

One of my procrastinator buddies finally agreed to go on the March 18-23 Island Park trip. On Friday there were ten spots available, now there are none. He said he would take my sons spot haha no dice there. Glad I booked for the rest of our group already. Any cancellations PM me.

we will leave you something to ride. I am the trip before, which I see has opened up for 4 sleds only.

ya, you would think huh?

Just tried it last season. The service has recovered, I love the lodge, most of the staff are great too. And I absolutely love the riding area. But the price is not competitive.

I'll say, I just priced a trip for this Feb, same time frame & same accomodations as last year (all inclusive), price increased $147.00 per person over last year. This coupled with the fact that gas is over a $1.00 per gal more than last year, we have decided to stay in the Keweenaw this year, can't justify that expense right now. Trailer is up for sale, if interested, check the classifieds.-Mezz

It's a "can't run with the big dogs world" out there. If $4 extra a day for gas would keep me away I would rethiink what I do during the winter. Sledding is life. Money is the vehical to get you there.

Very nicely put..........

It's not $4 extra a day for gas, it's a 3,000 mile round trip for "me". This does not include my wife or my 10 year old. In the end, an extra $500 is indeed enough for me to say, not this year. I have great riding right out my door, I can have a lot of fun right here on a lot less $. Yes, money is the vehicle to get you there & I'm not rethinking what I do during the winter, just how far to travel & how much it costs me to do it. 3,000 miles & an extra $500 is a deal breaker for me, sorry. Woof!-Mezz

Heck, your in prime riding area already, can't blame you to stay put. It takes me 12 hours to get to you. We have no Off trail riding until min. 4 hrs. North and very limited. I always thought Togwotee was going to be a once in a lifetime event until I did it. Now kids are out of house and I go west at least 3 times a year. I forgo expensive sport event tickets, etc. To do it. All depends on an individuals priiorities in life. Seen a boat today at the miniciple marina that was named "Summer sledding", I had to go visit this guy.
He said sledding Ontario is life to him and boating is just away to get to winter for him without going nuts. I made a new friend.

Mezz, I do agree Togwotee has the market pretty wrapped up but Lava mtn. Is just down the road. Togwotee has top notch guides and is very convenient. Everytime I been there I have done group rates or show specials, etc. And that has helped.

There are other lodges in that area also. Turpin Meadow Lodge is very close to Togwotee. That's where we stayed the couple times we've been out there - the last time was this past winter, and we ended up riding with guides from Togwotee a couple days anyway, just because of their reputation. I remember hearing about Heart 6 or something like that also. We also talked to some people who stayed in Dubois and drove up the hill every day. I can't imagine that being worth the effort though.
