Packers & Bears Game. What do you think?

OK Folks, in Wisconsin it's called "Bears Week". Here's a few random thoughts from a Packers fan.

I like Chicago and whenever I visit I take 3 times the cash that I think I'll need and I usually spend it. Excellent restaurants, you guys eat well in Chicago, also World Class museums. We visited the top of the Hancock at night, great view after dark. There's a bar up there where I ordered a Brandy and Diet 7 Up. They didn't have one bottle of Brandy in the place. Really? The waitress looked at me like I was from Mars (or Wisconsin)

I lived in Green Bay back in the mid 80's when the Bears were truly monsters with Ditka, the Fridge, Singletary, etc. There was a crew from Chicago building a water tower in Ashwaubenon. During Bear's Week they painted "Go Bears" in big letters on the outside of the tank.

and I read a story recently that back when the teams traveled by train Curly Lambeau knew a guy that worked for the railroad. On a December trip from Chicago to Green Bay, Curly had them turn off the heat in the rail cars and the Bears were pretty much froze solid by the time they got to Titletown.

So it's Bears Week, always a good game regardless of records. And you say?

If you were on the 95th, or I guess it would be the 96th for the bar. It's called cognac. Brandy is for cheese heads! :)

Just kidding Gary. Bears-Packers, awesome rivalry and agree, records usually don't mean too much in those games. Bears are due for a win, pack due for a loss, but would not put money on either side!

The Bears are again so overrated .. probably wont even make the playoffs. and yes I realize Pack is not that good either but will peak at the right time this year with some of the injured coming back.and who knows how far they can go.

The Bears usually don't win this game. And I'm not a Packer fan. I would love to see Da Bears win it though, to shut up Packer fans lol

Can I really even say this, I am a Bears and Packers fan. I live in Illinois but have spent more "free" time in Wisconsin than Illinois (usually 30% of the year). I usually attend more Packers games than bears games each year. I root for the Bears when they play the Pack but when there not playing each other I root for both. So, for this weekend, GO BEARS. After that, lets be honest, only the Pack have a chance at any post season success. Some people say you can't root for both, I don't remember reading that rule anywhere.

I've never been a Bears "fan". If they make the playoffs, I do root for them to win. I've always been a Packers fan-through the horrible 1970's and 80's when the only game that mattered was the Bears game. I know Soldier Field is a tough place to play. I even know about the way they turn off the big screen when the opposing team is driving for the end zone on one end of the field. Then they turn it on for the Bears so the QB can see the defensive alignment better. That's all part of the home field advantage. I have Nephews who grew up in Chicago,, and love giving them crap during the game. I feel the Packers are starting to come together, but man they are on a tightrope if they lose this one. I feel the Packers win this game 28-17. It doesn't matter if Cutler plays or not-the Packers seem to get in his head at some point in each game they play. Go Pack Go!!!

Seems like the Bears & Packers have been playing twice a season for about 100 years. A couple of games I recall include;

Majkowski over the line of scrimmage to Sharpe for the game winner.

Charles Martin body slams McMahon on his head.

The Fridge playing Fullback on Monday Night.

Raji's Interception and Return for the touchdown in 2010.

and too many others to remember.

Lived in Chicago my whole life...my first game at Soldier Field was Bears/Packers. We always had a vacation home in Wisconsin when I was a kid, so I just fell in love with the state. As a result, I became a closet Packer fan. I love the fact that they are still a hometown team...even if they have gone corporate...they still don't have the level of corporate that you see in the rest of the NFL. As much as I like the Bears due to geographical necessity, I always root for the Pack when they aren't playing each other. And when they do play, i am happy either way!

Pack will win by three touchdowns.

The Bears are hitting the skids and sliding fast. These games are usually close and with John's prediction for snow. I'm going Pack 17-10. I was at the game in Sept. and they are always a hoot jabbing with Bear fans. My daughter and I were at the Lions game Sunday night. After the 2 minute warning, the crowd broke out chanting "The Bears Still.....", well we all know the rest. Don't want to get into trouble like I did 2 years ago.

Merry Christmas Gary and all the Dee'rs out there. THINK SNOW

"GO PACK GO"

Add in to the calculations that Robbie Gould is now out for the season... :(

What the he l l happened to him? My God!

They should pack it up and forfeit the rest of the games to save on injuries and get a better draft pick. Maybe they can pick up some O Line talent.

Stupid Bears. It is sad.

Bears lucky to win 1 more game this season & this is not it. Might beat Cards or Lions but not both. Playoffs not looking good & would not get far anyway. Always a chance to win a game in the NFL but a long shot.

Gould, who strained his left calf during pre-game warm-ups, was replaced on the roster by Olindo Mare, a 16-year NFL veteran who won a three-man kicking competition Tuesday at Halas Hall.

They need some key players back on D and really McCarthy 13 weeks and you still havent figured out the O line SUCKS?!?!?! Make a move, trade, something?!?! Best QB in the league and you got 3rd stringers protecting him..... McCarthy sucks...
