Sorry WD, I just don't see that scenario playing out right now. Maybe a couple years down the road when Rodgers is on the backside of his career. The pack have a chance right now to see what type of a QB they have in their system and to plan for the future. If Hundley does well they may have their future QB, if he falls flat they will have to address the situation in the draft sometime in the near future. A perfect scenario would be to draft Rodgers backup about a year or so before Rodgers retires and allow the future QB to learn and get acclimated to the NFL.
Excellent point. They will find out what they have now with Hundley. He is their best bet to save the season. Maybe he can and maybe he can't. They will find out. There is nobody out on the street that is more qualified. Not Romo, not Kap, not Favre - nobody. It looks like Hundley can run around a little bit and that is something he is going to have to do with the banged up line. The defensive strategy will be simple - Stop the run and make him pass. Should be interesting. Looking down the road I am sure they will make Rodgers the highest paid player in the NFL. Which means they will have less money to spend on other positions. Which probably means they will never win another Superbowl in the Rodgers era. Remember when Brady gave back some money so the team could pay some other guys?
