Excellent point. They will find out what they have now with Hundley. He is their best bet to save the season. Maybe he can and maybe he can't. They will find out. There is nobody out on the street that is more qualified. Not Romo, not Kap, not Favre - nobody. It looks like Hundley can run around a little bit and that is something he is going to have to do with the banged up line. The defensive strategy will be simple - Stop the run and make him pass. Should be interesting. Looking down the road I am sure they will make Rodgers the highest paid player in the NFL. Which means they will have less money to spend on other positions. Which probably means they will never win another Superbowl in the Rodgers era. Remember when Brady gave back some money so the team could pay some other guys?

Your are right I was speaking of what could happen between now and the 2018 draft not the next 24 hours week or month. Packers will soon be at a crossroad to sign Rogers prolly to be the highest paid player in the NFL or Rogers walks hurt or healthy. The Redskins would be first to say hey Arod come here bye bye Kirk Cousins and Rogers would listen...TT could save a few bucks with that swap and TT would have money for other players. It is premature to say Hundley is not the answer but I still don't think he will win many games. If Hundley does well and the Pack does win into the playoffs then why pay Rogers the big big... HUGE bucks? Lots of conditions at play here over the rest of this season with Rogers out. Coach M did exactly what he should do and say I'm good with the guys in my QB room....that is until he isn't good which imo will be sooner than later..lol When that happens lose 3-4 out of next 5 and the pressure will be on to do something urgent at QB to stay in playoff contention. If Hundley wins the next 5 who needs Rogers?? Just saying lots can happen and TT has to hear it all and have alternatives for all fluid developments or he is not doing his job.

I am not counting the Pack out just yet. They have a good record right now and their in a division that doesn't have a dominate team or stud QB. Maybe, just maybe, they can go 5-5 the rest of the way and end up 9-7...that might just be good enough to get in. Maybe Rodgers can come back at the very end of the season and make a run. After watching last week, this league is up for grabs...Atlanta getting beat at home by a Jay Cutler Dophins ( i thought Atlanta only knew how to choke in the super bowl)... Chiefs losing at home, giants winning on the road...what?

The draft & FA system works....the worst record gets to pick the best players so bottom teams like DA Bears are getting better via the draft so is Cleveland & 49ers. The Jets are surprising many everyone thought they would be number 32. Nobody goes undefeated so maybe the best record is 12-4 or 11-5 in the league this year.

LOL... I brought this up a few posts back in this thread and Pack fans didn't even want to consider a parting with Rogers....never happen....My response why the heck not??? Rogers will be a FA and when up for bid he could attract super big bucks from contending teams. Rogers agent will field offers no doubt about it and TT may want to start the rebuilding process without Rogers. Rogers would be nuts to walk away from big money from a talented team with good coaching. IMO very possible Rogers is done with the Pack and TT and moves on for SB Rings.

WD you're whole premise was backwards though. after Rodgers got hurt your post was slanted in that the team was giving up on Rodgers not the other way around you didn't mention anything about FA. (unless I miss construed what you were saying) If anyone leaves this relationship it will be on Rodgers's accord. Not team letting Rodgers go. TT can just punch his retirement ticket to Florida if he think's he'll pull that off and not have the city of GB burning his house down. Especially when he's still got minimum of 7 outstanding years in front of him. First ballot HOF QB's don't go on trees,,,, Packers aren't trading Rodgers,,,, maybe he leaves in FA but still don't see that happening either.


Rodgers will be back next year playing lights out making a run to a SB with a terrible Defense and new coordinator.

This injury could work in a different way. GB always knew Rodgers was their team and seeing how bad they are, which is typical for having a backup QB in, maybe they will see that they have to build a better team while you have him and a sense of urgency....go all in for the next several years. The chance they get another QB that is remotely close to the last 2 is quite small.

My posts were all about the long term possibilities regarding what could happen with Aaron Rogers. This includes trading him for a boat load of draft picks and players that can help GB to rebuild a team that does not revolve around one superstar QB. TT has to consider every possibility as well as BB did with Jimmy G. If TT can't afford Rogers he needs to get something good for him as time starts to run out. Rogers can get an enormous amount of money for his services so imo anything can happen in his and the Packs future. My entire posts were to be aware and be open to what ifs no one can predict the future but you can be aware of all possibilities.

Rodgers can opt out of his contract after this year, which im sure he will for multiple reasons . then GB could franchise him, which would prolly piss him off. Could get hairy on both sides here in the next few years.

White dust I don't even know how you can compare Roger's and Garrspollo's situation it's completely two ends of the spectrum.
You're comparing trading a back up for a couple pics compared to trading a first ballot Hall of Famer.
I can't even wrap my head around that comparison.

Rodgers to Chicago for 45 mil per year Chicago gives up every draft pick and all players more than min salary guys to afford him. Ditka is GM and coach.
Trubisky to MN. MN defense gives up an average of 10 pts a game (maybe new nfl record?) Offense averages 3 pts a game.
Bridgewater to GB. Pack sign Clay and Cobb for 20 mi/year each for 17 yrs. Let Adams walk because he wants 10m/year for 3. Defense gives avg 42 pts per game.

All 3 finish 3-13 splitting games with each other.
Detroit FINALLY wins a division title with a record of 6-10. Only winning division games. HAHA




OH and Pats win SB again

Rodgers gets biggest contract of all time. Which leaves only $2.00 left under the salary cap for the additional 52 players. They fill out the roster with lingerie league bimbos and NFL ratings go through the roof once again. All will be well. And the Patriots will win the SB again.
