Weather should be whether.
Hurrah! Applause for sweeperguy!
"[ sic ] what do [sic] this stand for?
"You buy 'em books, and buy 'em books, and all they do is eat the covers!"

Here's what it do [sic] … er, does stand for:

1. A usage example from an article in the Los Angeles Times, June 28, 1985:
(click →) "State Dept. Official Scores U.S. Churches' Sympathy for Central American Marxists".

"The official, Assistant Secretary of State Langhorne A. Motley, also said he found Congress and the media unexpectedly difficult to educate about Central America.
'You buy 'em books and buy 'em books, and all they do is eat the covers,' he said."
2. (click →) Old sayings (a variant):
"Buy them books and buy them books, and all they do is chew the corners."
In today's terms, perhaps:
"You give 'em computers and smart phones and all they do is they lick the screens"?
(Instead of perhaps using Google to find the answer themselves?) :p

Parkview to open

The owners (of Parkview) son & his wife are opening (in the beginning it was their 2 daughters). As you all know, information can change along the way but for now we have been told they will be open for 3 months only. Also, the scuttlebutt is that it could be because liquor license can be in escrow for a certain period of time-as time has gone-must be for a 3 year period. Actually we would like to see it open permanently because it is good for Twin Lakes. We'd like to see the gas station open up also. More news for you is that the new owners of the golf course will be open for food this winter. They also have a bar. Good things are happening around here.

Great news about the Parkview. Are the cabins at the golf course still rented out in the winter?
