You know these guy's never cease to amaze me, as most of you regulars already know I purchased a used RMK Assault from them in Sept. well I had a chance to get it out in the snow last weekend and the display went dark on it and the sled quit running. I got it started back up and got it in the barn, on Sunday night I emailed Kip, who emailed me back on Monday morning telling me to call the shop so I can talk to his mechanic Jeff, which I did. I told Jeff what it was doing and he told me it sounded like the voltage regulator so I got Kip back on the phone he ask if I could take it to my local dealer down here to verify that it was the regulator and he would replace it. I called my local dealer and his response was this "We are too busy and we aren't taking anymore sleds until after the 1st of the year" and I've bought a sled and had an engine rebuilt from this dealer and I've done some machining work for him so I'm on a first name basis with him. So I call Kip back and ask is there any other way I can verify that this is the problem, I would like to get it running because I would like to ride for a couple days after Christmas. He asks if I know anyone who has I can borrow a regulator to put in my sled to verify it so I call my buddy the Muckster up and tell him I'm stealing his regulator for about an hour, which I do and sled runs great. I call Kip back on Tues. he orders one and it comes in today, we decide it won't make it before Christmas to my house so he is shipping it to were I'm staying so it will be there when I get there. I'm telling you people you just can't find service like this anywhere but Pats and M&M and remember this is on a used sled not a new one that could have been you bought its your problem from any other dealer. Now you know why I drive 600 mile to buy from them. Sorry its so long winded, Thanks again Kip

I too had a great experience with them, many years ago.
It was the first time we were up in the UP, one of my buddies on a Polaris (I think) had a problem, so we stopped at Pats. After determining that they didn't have the part (different brand), Pat offered his truck to my buddy to run to Dan's Polaris (I believe), to pick up a part they had in stock. My buddy took him up on the offer, picked the part up, then Pat's mechanic's put the part on his sled, and was extremely reasonable with the labor charge. I was blown away, 1. that he offered the truck, to basically a total stranger, and 2. then fixed a sled of a different make, without having to wait all day to have it repaired. Unfortunately, I wasn't, and not presently, in the position to buy a sled, but if I was, that would be the first place I would head to. These types of people, and businesses are extremely rare, and should get as much business support as possible.

that was back in 2002-03 when it was a big problem. they do still go but much farther between. And far less money then a stator. Just ride it! I searched out the service writer at my dealer today and cornered him, asking him directly how many 2012 Poo 800's have come in with blow motors and he said, not one. But the 09's we have a steady stream. He said the 800 etecs are keeping them busy right now.

Mine went on my 06 Fusion, but it was a breeze to change, and I don't remember it being too expensive. One went on one of my relative's 2010 IQ, and it took out some electronics with it, but that was covered by warranty.

They aren't hard to change at all. I don't know if dealers keep them in stock though.

600s CFI have been pretty good engines next door neighbor kid rides the crap out his 2010 rush rolled it a few times but engine runs good ...got to be over 5000 miles easy. I'll have to ask miles next time I see him on trail. Last i talked to him now wants 155RMK told him no...no 2" paddles not good on Vilas hardpak trails but seems to be doing more off trail & that little 121 rush floats ok.:)

Yep Wayne, I'm tellin ya its worth the drive, I been kickin around this site for 10-11 years and I've never heard a bad word spoken about either dealership besides I would rather spend my money where I ride anyway, I've had it with my local dealers and besides Pats and M&M the last sled I bought in the lower was from Nelsons a good dealer don't get me wrong but I don't think they would go out of they're way on a used sled like Kip has. You know there must be something in the water in the Yoop and especially the Western Yoop most of the business's that I have dealt with that advertise on this site seem to go way out of they're way to make sure that they're customers are happy and treated like friends instead of just another number and I'm proud to call them my friends. I sure can't wait to get back up there unfortunately it won't be until after the 1st of the year

Peacock LTD. takes fantastic care of me in the service area. I am close enough to ride my sled there from my place.
When it comes to pricing and dealer setup Nelson's does a fantastic job. Jack Nelson is the most dedicated man to the sport I have ever met. For service due to the huge volume going thru there you will have a wait time. Down here it seems that How much you spend at some dealers is in relation to your service quality and speed. Not right, but real world here. Peacock and Nelsons have gotten tens of thousands of dollars out of me so I get to go to the head of the line. Fair??? I think so. but not so much for the guy just buying a spark plug for his Walmart chainsaw. As far as Babbitts, great place for parts fast. service is a long wait.

There is a lot to be said when the dealerships are smaller, you get personability, a face that stays and gets the job done. Big town dealers punch out and go home at 5pm. They feel they have the year round volume to do so.

Pats and M&M are doing it right! You can't buy this type of advertising, People taking care of People. And Making Hay while the sun shines!

Ya Wayne I hear what you say but the dealer also has to remember that the guy buying a spark plug for his Walmart chainsaw if treated right might come back the next weekend and buy a new sled or if treated poorly won't come back again for a spark plug or anything else.

I gotta say Pat's has to be the best in the UP. Kip and the boys have taken great care of us each and every time we come into town. A few years back I was riding my new apex when I crashed it up pretty good. Called Kip at home and he sent John down to pick me up. Drove back to Greenland where he gave me a loaner truck to drive back to Presque Isle. First thing in the morning I headed back up and by the time I got there my sled was already done. I for one will never by a machine, gear or whatever unless it comes from Pats. First class all the way!

Guys Pat's NOT small #2 or #3 in sales the last I saw stats on TY for Yamaha some guys saw Greenland & thought it was Greenland the country.LOL:D Kip just getting started with Polaris & Chad has Cat both have Yamaha lots of iron moving thur their dealerships. These guys work hard & bust butt to get you back on the trail large or small customers no problem bringing my buds to meet Kip or Chad & becoming customers. I don't consider buying any where else maybe kick some skis at other dealers but when you get down to the deal Pat's always the best & the service has always been excellent.:)

I had Pat 's do some preventative maintenance to my 06 vector this fall. It was kind of last minute, and I needed it to be done in a day. I was very pleased because they completed everything that needed to be done and were very thorough about what was done and what would need to be done next year. Sled is performing better than it was last year and I will be taking it back there next year. 9300 miles and going strong.
