I am so frickin mad at the world we live in. Our Fire Chief has been diagnosed with ALS (yes like the ice bucket thingy). We got together and decided to have a benefit for him and his family as we all know what the medical bills are going to be. The grand prize to be givin away was a 1972 Olds Cutlass. We sold a bunch of 100 dollar raffle tickets. Advertised a whole bunch. Last night get word that the car, which was stored inside a car dealership, was STOLEN! Broke into the dealership on sunday afternoon and stole the thing. http://www.kttc.com/story/29833975/...fire-chief-diagnosed-with-als-reported-stolen

I cannot believe the world we live in anymore. Losing faith by the day. Please take a look at the link above. It is a early release but it has a picture of the car. If anyone sees it in any capacity (online for sale, on the road, ect...) please call your local police or Houston County Sheriffs office 507-725-3379. Thanks

dealership with no alarm or security cameras? Its sad but a must have now a days.
Hope it is found undamaged. It sucks it was for such a good cause and this happened.....
If there was documentation or signs on the car stating what it was for, and they still took it, they should rot in prison!

yes the world is full of jerks it seems
need stronger punishments IMO, and I don;'t care about how folks say that doesn't work
BULL crap
I say, when I was a kid, it was never the cops I feared, as long as they were around I was SAFE,
it was when they left I got a whole new appreciation on doing things RIGHT!
and I sadly think this is missing in today's world
I hope they catch the crooks and punish them to the MAX

Don't loose your faith brother, these people will pay and there is no way around it. I know that doesn't change the fact that you are dealing with this but don't let theme ruin all the good you guys planned. Sometimes things turn out even better despite terrible circumstances.

It is a money or material driven society for sure. I have had a few situations lately where really smart people have made absolute insane decisions in the name of money and wealth.

No words to describe how fast we as a country have fallen. Blame it on Bush I guess...He gets blamed for everything else.

That really stinks! I hope Karma gets them good!!! I had a 1972 Cutlass Supreme as my second car as a 16 year old. What a great car, I loved it! I always thought the rounded fender above the rear wheels was a 1971 model? My was a 1972 and it had changed that fender to a much better looking fender IMO. Maybe they offered both for a time?

I sure hope they find it with no damage and those responsible are charged to the max!

Thanks guys for the supporting words. We met as a committee last night. We have to find a different car. Reprint the raffle tickets then call everyone that has purchased one and make sure they are ok with the different car. Worst part is our county fair is this weekend and we planned to show off the car and hopefully sell a bunch of tickets... So much for that idea... Just sucks the benefit is only 3 weeks away and we have this happen.... There are still tickets left to anyone who would like to purchase. I can arrange the transaction. Thanks again. Check out the FB page for the benefit as well. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Benefit-For-Chief-Chuck-Gavin/1446409038990814 We have all the news stations covering this as far away as the twin cities. Rumor this morning was it was seen near eau clare. Keep your eyes peeled fellow jd'rs!!

I know the feeling slimcake. It's a situation that causes you to lose sleep wondering how people can behave so evil. Like Lenny said, they'll get theirs.

I certainly hope that beautiful ol' Olds Cutlass is found unharmed in time for this weekend's county fair! — Along with the slimeball(s) that did the deed! Then in the ol' 19th century Western tradition: "Git a rope!" (Oh don'cha just wish!)

If you could "Git a rope" would be a much better deterrent than the current system
