Well I had a big scare this morning — I woke up (in Phoenix, AZ) and looked at the (outdoor!) "thermominator" to see 45°F? — In da AiryZony desert? I thought I'd died and went to da UP! (What kind of "desert" is this, ice cream?)

Er… (click →) Surprise, AZ — and "surprise" it was! :p

From Wikipedia:
"The city was founded in 1938 by Flora Mae Statler, who named it Surprise as she 'would be surprised if the town ever amounted to much'.

… it is [now] the second fastest-expanding municipality in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area … and, between 1990 and 2000, it was the sixth fastest-expanding place among all cities and towns in Arizona."!
