Just started picking as a hobby and was wondering if anyone else is doing this for fun? I picked about 8 garage sales. Now I have to figure out how to get rid of the stuff! Most of the stuff I like so maybe now I will be a hoarder!

I love garage sales! Thats the only thing about winter thats a disappointment, no garage sales. My daughter just got her first apartment and we have really been having fun finding her furniture and stuff to put in there. If you end up with too much stuff just take a picture and post it on Craigs list. Somebody will want it!!:)

X'2 most people I have talked at are using craigs list before e-bay.

A friend of mine and I just got back from thrift store shopping. LOVE the good deals. Got a rug today for $15 - heavy, good quality. Will I roll around on it before cleaning it? Heck no...but that kind of stuff. Zip off cargo pants for $1.50? Sure...why not! Great for new apartment dwellers. We know the spots to go to if your looking for clothes or furniture or your wedding dress?!! LOL CCM hockey skates for $4.50? Sure!

My in laws garbage pick. They ARE hoarders! Is kinda scary!

I can vouch for that Cindy. One day I will have a pool table and pinball machine in my office.

Garage sale at my house next weekend, Tons of stuff. Anyone collect the whatever 56 ceramic village stuff? I got tons of it. Told wife I want to see basement floor and the rafters in the attic once more!
Fallasburg Fall festival weekend we always move out product (junk) for new product (stuff). If I had my way it all would go, no basement in a trawler or tug.

PR1, now the pool table and the pinball machine are Art's...not sure where they came from?! Used to have a buddy who worked for an amusement company - pinball machine. Not sure about the pool table. That's not the garbage picked stuff! The shop has a whole basement
(1200 sq ft?) FULL of stuff...junk...junque.

yea tell me about it my war department worked for dept 56 for yrs.she worked the photo shoots wrote the copy etc etc for the catalogs.most of the photo shoot stuff would come home with her.
and let me tell you they sell way more than villages.
then as if we did not get enough crap through out the yr they would have United Way drives so employees would buy a big box for $20 and go through the parking garage filled with stuff and fill it up.
then there was the %56 discount at the retail store.
it is my NIGHTMAIER I CANT ESCAPE.
sad part is the villages are a PITA to put up and put away.so they really dont come out any more.not the Halloween not the Xmas not the 4th of July ETC ETC think the village storage room is about 9x6 filled both sides and filled rack in center and still miss boxes around the house
then the room filled with Tupperware tubs of Radco and d56 and vintage pre WW2 ornaments [what you dont put a a vintage tree as 1 of your 3 trees?] around 20 for Xmas
prob 9to112 tubs for Halloween 5or more for fall/thanksgiving/5or more summer/4th of July just a few for Valentine's only 1 st Patric's and few miss
collecting can become hoarding in a hurry
the D56 stuff really dose not sell as well as I thought it would she tried dumping a few villages on Craig's and no real responses did not move any at a G sale few yrs back

It's official and I am up and running. Snow Monkey is now a picker!
tough time getting you much of a pile by friday. lol we got snow globes up the wazzoo. Wife must buy this stuff while I am out snowmobiling. I never see any of it come in the house. Today while looking at sled acessories catalogs, a big box shows up on the porch. What the heck is "Tastefully Simple"? and the box of week old un- opened "Pampered Chef" is starting to draw my attention.
