Pilot Skis on Ski Doo Sleds, 2nd Set Of Carbides?

Curious if people are putting on a second set of carbides on the Pilot skis? I picked up a holdover 2012 GSX in February and got weekend ride up north before putting it away. Love the sled and I am 90% trails and drilled holes right away and put another set of carbides on.
I have read that some people have better control with just the one set and am curious what other have done? Thanks.

I have Pilot 6.9 skis on my sled. I moved the stock 4" carbides to the outsides of the skis and put Bergstrom Triple Points in the center. I love the set up and also, by putting the stock carbides on the outside of the skis, you protect the outer edge of the skis.

I have a Renegade and was experiencing push in the corners with soft snow. I moved the four inch stock carbides to the outside and put 6" Stud Boy shaper bars in the middle. Problem solved - big difference!

I would put the stockers on the outside and run 6 inch in the center unless you run a bunch of studs and then i would add more carbide. You also may want to shim the skis.

I put the stockers on the inside (swapped my skis so the sled rolled over better in deeper snow), and put the bergstroms triple points down the middle. The saddle shims that come with the triple point are a must to get rid of the darting.

You'll need something on the outside to protect the ski, cause it will wear right down.

I run worn out Carbides on the outside to protect the Ski or it will wear out on the edge. Also gives you a extra Carbide if you wear out your inside one on a long ride.

You are right on 56... the only way to go. If you have darting put a shim in.

I'm thinking of getting the bergstrom skegs. I run a newer Ski-Doo MXZX 800 with 126 studs down the center. Ride pretty aggressively but don't want the steering to be really heavy. Should I get 8"? Do the shims take some of the pressure of the skis? I was running 7.5" shaper bars and that didn't seem too bad. I have the stock ones on the outside.
