Plastic front bumper/grab bar on 07 IQ

Has anyone ever had the front bumper/grab bar break on a polaris iq? I had the unfortunate experience when I went to move my wifes to put away for the summer. From what I have read this is common due to the weak deisgn. If anyone has experienced this how big of a job is it to fix or replace? It appears that the bolts pulled right out of the plastic they were mounted to, not cool.

Yes, it is a common problem for those years.

Do some searching and find a powder coated metal one and replace it. While it isn't really hard to replace with a few tools, if you are going to do it, there is no sense in putting the same crap back on there again.

As I recall the metal one is attached better and you can actually use it to pull the sled out of a stuck or tie it down if you have to lift on it.

Guy I bought my sled from tapped a tree with it cracked the bumper with ease. He replaced it with a stock one and I've been yanking it around and haven't had any problems yet. Its a common problem though check out the Skinz bumper very strong and VERY good reviews.

brother had his break the first time he trailered it. Tied a ratchet strap to the front bumper, as he always had in past sleds. At the first stop, he opened the trailer door to find his sled had moved, and the bumper was split in two. Now we always tie down to the front a-arms

Yeah I am thinking I am going to go with the aftermarket one so it doesnt happen again. The good news is I have plenty of time to fix in the off season.

I'm just going to make a small sticker for the front/bottom of the hood that says "Hands off the F**KING bumper!" LOL

Yep, they were junk, I replaced mine with a Skinz, and while I was at it, replaced all the plastic with 2009/10 plastic, much cleaner look.
