I'm riding alone on twisty trail 10E going E by Brule Springs & meet a guy & his son or wife on poo wedgies going W & he starts waving like a madman. I'm like what the heck I saw you 500 feet ago what is your problem so the guy heads straight at me & I'm about to go up the berm no place left so give him fist last sled signal & I could see him deflate like a balloon. The second sled gave me last sled signal & all is well. I know some leaders want to be protective of their packs but veering head on at an oncoming leader is not the way to do it. Just give me a hand signal if you choose & stay on your side of the trail let me worry about me & you worry about you no head on veering crap just take care of yourself & I'll do the same. This happens to me every year once or twice is plain wrong & very stupid so please don't do it. Other than that great day on the trails. Thanks :)

I agree with Whitedust on worry about you, and I'll worry about me. If you give me a hand signal or not, makes no difference to me. I ride on my side anyways. Not great steering on hard pack trails with mountain skies. And yes, I do give hand signals when I pass a group.

Ahhh...the ol' hand signal thread. Let er rip!!!

Not about hand signals I could care less about that give them to me or I can just look ahead & see what I need to see. This is about veering head on to a leader trying to drive him way right as some sort of blocking tactic for their pack. I think this guy thought 20 crazies were behind me or something but was just me 1 sled. In this trail section there are many very quick in & outs but really going in a straight line 1 second hidden by trees next second you can see down the trail. I picked up this guys' headlight right away but I must of come on him before he had line of sight of me so paniced & tried to run me extreme right but next for me was berm then picker bushes. There was no need to do this everything was aok he overreacted & over protected either wife or son behind him. Actions like this are dumb & cause more problems for everyone just ride your sled & let me ride my sled don't over compensate leads to bad results.

Gotta love them and the ones that come at ya, panic, lock up the track slideing sideways at ya.When all they had to do was just keep rideing and all would be fine.
