So as you may have seen Santa brought my kids a Polaris 120. It currently has a Governor Bypass kit on it. I would like to start them off slow. Anyone know how to remove it?

I assume I will end up back on before the winters done (if it ever starts) but still want to start them off slow until the get the hang of it. Plus my house is in a subdivision so it not like they will have a ton of room, but enough.

Also does any one have the PDF manuals on the 2000 Polaris XCR 120?
I tried "chadt.us/manuals" but the site is down, do to to many people complaining about his selection. Yeah get that people complaining about get something FREE.

From Thread: "enabling gov bypass on Z-120 AC to make it faster"
opposite of lofsfire request :). I have a stock AC Z-120 that I want to enable the gov. bypass on it once we get some snow and my daughter gets used to it again and need to speed it up a little. I know the "kits" basically comprise of a zip tie, but I have never looked into exactly what you are zip tieing??? Something about the spring? Anybody have any specific instructions or photos to assist me with my trailside modification? Thanks.

the steal more or less paperclip set up is not the one to order if she keeps it wide open all the time the plastic gear on the governor can bust apart in your bottom end.
the one you want is a sprig that limits it to 5000 rpm stock is 2900 to3000
this place has them and all the parts you want.

or just spent the $410 and but the new piped 6hp Honda they sell for it

So for me its just removing the spring no linkages?
I'll try to post some picture later.

And then for raco_guy he just needs to install the spring.

Seems to easy...

the Polaris prob has a paperclip looking thing that attaches to the carb and and the governor arm. if you start it and squeeze the throttle and look at the carb, you will see the throttle cable move and the governor arm floats a bit on paper clip thing but will not allow governor arm to move back so it revs out. that paper clip looking thing is what you pull out.
an the cat just pull the spring between the two 5 min job to start inspect remove and just rev it up for fun

from the pictures, it doesn't appear to have the gov elimination on it. it usually goes around the spring that you are referencing to keep it from extending.

It looks like that spring is way to heavy, the big one that is. That could be the problem. That is the spring I was told to paperclip or zip tie on mine which is a lot smaller then this one. Maybe whoever bypassed it in the first place used a heavy spring instead.
