Polaris 2nd year Warranty (or so called 2nd year)

how exactly does that work than. If a third party is actually the ones paying out in the event of warranty work, do they set the fine print. Seems hard to believe that Polaris could dictate what is covered and how long, miles if they are not receiving the money.

Since mine is in I'm gonna find out for sure and will post back later in week..I need to know 100% if miles r involved...but Polaris sends out the warranty sales card just prior to the 1,year...and I paid Polaris the fee

Last week a bearing went out on my 2011 Apex XTX with 11,000 miles on speedo, had to be picked UP by Dave the local sled hauler and hauled to Pat's in Greenland were Kip had the sled done by 10AM the next morning. I still have two years of warranty left on this sled, there was no charge of course for the sled repair and Yamaha also picked UP the 120 dollar tow bill from Dave to haul me and the sled to Kip. WOW now that's a warranty! Thank's again Kip and[ Dave the mechanic] at Pat's for going above and beyond to keep me on the snow.

probably, they wouldn't make any money!

The only way they wouldn't make any money is if tons of claims were filed. Since Yamaha's never break down, they would make tons of money since they would have no claims to pay! ;)

DWZ,
You're welcome for the help and you're worth it. Polaris does sell a factory backed warranty called the Polaris Protection program. It's new and Polaris sent a dealer packet to all Polaris dealers. From what I can tell it looks to be a good package! I see no mileage limits!!! I sold my first one yesterday to a good customer for his 2013 that's about to run out of warranty. The prices are a bit high but we can give a better deal than what's quoted. It's very easy to do but you do have to sign the form that we print out once the contract is put into affect. Polaris knows they need to do something and this is a step in the right direction for sure. SRT20, not all dealers are like you say, bring it here and we'll help you the best we can. A lot of the problem is the dealers do not want to do warranty work which is to me just plum laziness. Yes it takes more work no doubt but if I were the snowmobile that's what I would expect from a dealer. The last Yamaha dealer meeting I went to in Las Wages they had a gal there that dealt in costumer service for some of the biggest companies in the industry and she looked at the room of dealers and said it's not hard to wow the consumer anymore because they are so use to being let down by dealers!! And it's true. Very sad in my opinion. She basically said come on guys get off your butts and do your jobs and it will be worth your while. It seems no one wants to do anything anymore unless it's easy or handed to them. That's why we do what we do here. We know people do not have to spend their money with us but they do and we appreciate it. Processing warranty work and putting in your best effort is part of being a dealer. Since when is the dealer doing a customer a favor by doing warranty work, really? It's our job! Yes the thank you's and pleasantries go along way for sure and make the job worth while but in the end it's just part of the job. My two humble cents.

It was my second year with the Adventure, last year, with 1650 miles on it. The fine print in the warranty does not usually cover fire, and I think some of us know why. I know of more than one guy that has burned their sleds down to collect insurance, not something I could ever do! My fire was started due to the engine failure but the "insurance" company that was handling the extended warranty used it as an out. They did end up covering the brand new engine, but the fire also damaged $3,000 worth of EFI equipment etc., and they wouldn't cover that. However, within 24 hours of me and my dealer contacting Polaris, they picked up the whole $3,000 for me. It ended up costing me my $50 deductible. The few times I've ever needed help from Polaris, they have taken care of me 100%. That's why I'm loyal. Over 15 new sleds and only 2 engine issues, both picked up by Polaris when they wouldn't have had to.

Kip, you need to open a few hundred more dealerships down in the lower, so all of us can be treated the way you treat your people!

Two thumbs up to you and your guys!!!
