Getting ready to replace drive bearings, ones located behind 2ndary clutch and the one below it. Main question is...are these pressed on? Will I need some kind of puller to get them off? How offen do these really need to be replaced due to being able to grease them?

Thanks in advance!

i had a 99 Indy 500 and the bearings were pressed on. luckily, i got a dealer by me pressed the new one on. i took it off myself with a socket and vise.

If you keep them greased, every 500-1000 miles, and at the end of the season to push out any water that may have gotten in there (On the drive shaft one, the jack shaft one shouldn't be getting wet), they shouldn't need replacing. I know some like to do preventative replacements, but if they are good and kept greased, I leave 'em.

I'd be more concerned with the wheel bearings on the skid that are NOT greasable than those two.

Thanks

All done with the chaincase bearings and plan on keep grease'n the other two and hope for no failure !
