so I was helping a bud in his shop today and a poo came in like I never saw.
how long did poo make a 700 that the pipe and carbs were on the front of the sled like a cat lay down twin? and why did they stop? the air box filled the whole nose up to where the early IQ had that big open grill in the nose and had a snorkel off to the side.
it was a 2 up 06 700.

755cc
similar to the 900 con FUSION 900 that was actually a 855 built in 2005 and 2006

There's multiple reasons POLARIS doesn't make that any longer..............................................................

I have never seen that set up on a poo but then I don't usually wrench on them and if I do they are old tipples or liberty 800s.
but my bud had not seen one before also.
but now that I know it is actually the 755 I get it they never lived long enough to make it in to a small shop

Word is the 700 and 900 were leftover engines for the Watercraft line so they threw in leftover crap for the Fusion line.

First I have ever heard that. Can you present documentation to this? Otherwise it is just rumor. No different then, "I heard today that Yamaha had to bail out Arctic cat from going into bankruptcy thus the Yamicat, this prevented Doo an Poo from having a monopoly on snowmobile production." just another rumor.

Don't know nothing about them. I know Uptourist has a sweet Yamaha jet ski that he just about lives on in the summer! :)
I had a Kawasaki 900 jet ski. rumor has it it is the same motor my wife has in her Vulcan....Not.

well I will dig in to the fusion parts just left over ski junk part .I happen to be good buds with the ski guru of MN.
and IMHO the best skis have for the most part been Yamaha. but also IMHO the only worth wile ski is a stand up yammi 650 or 700 best hull and motor hands down.U can still dump a old yammi stand up for more than U payed new where a same yr kawi would be lucky to get a grand.
the kawi will run but the hulls are not near as good in any chop nor handle as well

Well, I just gotta say this about POLARIS Jet-Skis, as I've owned a few of 'em.

I've owned several POLARIS ('94 750, '95 SLX 785, '97 PRO-785, '98 SLXH 1050, all purchased new), YAMAHA (2001 GP1200 R, RIVA STAGE 2), KAWASAKI (550 STAND-UP) jet skis, (3) SEA-DOO's purchased new, (NEW '99 Sea-Doo GSX Limited 951cc greneded with only 4 hours on it) and currently a modded 2007 SEA-DOO RXT (STAGE 2, 10psi boosted that runs a SMOOOOTH 72 M.P.H.on a G.P.S.)

And waaaaaaaaay back in 1997 I was fortunate enough to buy a brand new POLARIS PRO-785, with FACTORY TRIPLE pipes and computer controlled exhaust valves from the factory. Came with only a 90 day warranty, intended for the racers (Kristy Carlson had one)

And the 1997 POLARIS PRO-785 was without a doubt theeeee quickest ski out there at the time, PERIOD!

An absolute blast to ride, would rip the handlebars out of your hands at mid-range it had so much acceleration.

I abused this ski for 3 seasons, mostly FULL throttle, had approx 70 hours on it. Added a HOT SEAT head, V-FORCE reeds, and this ski NEVER broke!. Sold it to my bud, he doesn' t ride it as hard, still running it on a small lake in mid Michigan as recently as this past summer.

This is a ski where it was recommended to change rings at 10 hours, pistons at 30 hours, and it's still holding together today, 16 years later! NEVER grenaded, blew up, or broke (other than an occasional water line hose)

BTW, the LONG BEACH CALIFORNIA to CATALINA ISLAND 52 mile endurance race (LB2CAT) that's run every year and has become quite popular, was won by Billy Womack (full time American Airlines pilot and recreational jet - skier) on a POLARIS for 4 years back in 1997, 1999, 2000 and again in 2001. Battling high waves in the Pacific Ocean, none of the Kaw's or the Yamis or the Sea-Doo' s could catch him.

Not saying I would prefer the Polaris ski today, but you gotta give credit where it's do, and compare brands at the same time period, that's all.

resale is the #1 indicator of a product.
they all have there issues but I can just go off what I see running through the shop and what gets cut in 1/2 and put in the dumpster.
I am not a huge fan of the newer yammi 4st tons of them blow out the bottom of the crank case. every spi I have seen come in has the bottom of the case welded together .
tons off poos get scraped because way more money for parts than they are worth and when they go they go hard .
I think the spark is going to completely kill the used market for the next few yrs.

The FUN FACTOR is the #1 indicator of a good product as far as I'm concerned

Last summer I invited a couple of my friends out to the beach with me and let them ride my modded SEA-DOO RXT.

One had skis in the past, the other still has a couple of older skis

BOTH guys were kinda losing / lost interest in the skis they had.

After taking my ski for a 70+ M.P.H. blast, you couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces !!!! Talked about it for the rest of the summer.

Don't know what the re-sale would be on my 2007 modded SEA-DOO, but a few dollars or so either way doesn't matter, as I've had so much fun with it for 6 - 7 summers now

Next ski for me would be the 2014 Yami FZR or FZS,with the new super-charged VORTEC engine, up to 10 p.s.i. of boost, smooooooooooth riding over the rough water, and with a few bolt-ons and still leaving the engine 100% STOCK it will run 80+ on a G.P.S. ;-)

Sounds like a good product....;-)....................................................................................................

Not sure 'bout the resale though ?

My Uncle is concerned about resale, reads Consumer Reports, drives a Toyota

I drove it once, not too much fun for me ;-)

Don't think I'll be buying one.

Has good re-sale though..........................................................................................................
