Polaris 900 Speed problem

I have a 05 Polaris 900 Fuzion. The motor was rebuilt 100%. I am having an issue with it not going over 6,000rpm. It also won't exceed 75mph. It gets to 75 quick, but will not go past that speed or rpm. It does have an aftermarket clutch in it that doesn't engage until 4,000. It acts like the computer cuts out but the clutch is what is getting me. It was on the sled when I bought it with the blown motor. any help would be great!

Ok when you say the motor was rebuilt 100% was the fuel filter replaced? Was the tps sender checked? Both of these could cause this problem. What do you mean when you say after market clutch?Primary or secondary?Who makes the clutch?Just a start lets go from here.

When I bought mine. 90 was all it had. took it to the dealer and they told me that where the cable is attached to to the motor that it was not set properly. I would check that first.

does it have a new belt? My 600 fusion wouldnt go past 6500 rpm, and 65 to 70 mph is all i could get. then i tried my new spare belt and it would do 8000 rpms and 95mph. It was all stock though.

The only reason I know its an aftermarket clutch is because the previous owner said the primary was aftermarket. Also, its pretty easy to tell when the sled kicks in at 4k. Sucks but until I figure the problem out I will be using it.

Its a polaris clutch with a after market clutch kit in it.First take the belt off and then look for the x that lines up all three pieces and then remove the bolts that hold the cover on.Take the spring out and then see if the weights move free and there is no damage from the weights hitting the spider. The other thing to check is if the clutch will close all the way and is smooth. How many miles are on the clutch? You might have to replace it,the big bore motors vibrate more and rattle the clutch to death.
