I just did that very same thing to my Polaris IQ Tour. You can try to gently take the small retaining rings off but I'm tellin you right now, it's well worth your time to go to the dealer and buy a couple retaining rings, heck buy 4 of em just in case. Their like .10 a piece. Then you can take a dremel or small grinder, touch it to the old ring and off it comes. Not including resetting the spring I think it took me less than 5 minutes a side.
