Polaris AXYS Snowmobile Mirrors

I just got a pair of the OEM Polaris AXYS snowmobile mirrors (PN 2880292) and was looking at them to see how they adjusted and folded. The description from the Polaris website states the following: "Adjustable and will fold to fit under cover during storage or trailering. Wide-angle view, non-fogging glass." My question is, how do they fold? Seems like a stupid question I know but when I try to fold the pair I got at the base, I can't get either one to budge. Is there something specific you have to do to get them to fold? I've included a picture below of one mirror so everyone knows what I'm referring to.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you dwz. Why in the heck would they describe them with 'will fold' and then not allow them to fold?! I'm beginning to wonder if they'll even fit under a cover.

Don't know if the mirrors on the wifes 2015 AXYS Pro-S are the same, but they were dealer installed, and DO fold in for putting cover on. Not sure why Polaris would make a mirror that didn't fold.

Cirrus - would you mind including a picture of the mirror you have on her sled? I'm guessing since it was dealer installed they are the Polaris mirrors I'm talking about. Thanks!

I emailed the dealer...they said it was a B%^&* to get them moving at first but once they broke them loose, they folded fine.

Based on the picture you provided there is a definite pivot joint where the mirrors should fold backwards I am guessing. Like your dealer said they are probably stuck out pretty good because they have been that way since manufactured. Bust those babies loose & I bet they fold a lot easier each subsequent time.

Zoom on the picture, and you can see where they FOLD at the base. Yes - they move VERY hard....even after 3 years!
I move them very carefully when folding, by grabbing the arm, not the mirror itself. Always afraid I'd bust the mirror where they attach to the arm.

Thanks Jed I plan to do just that.

Thanks Cirrus! I appreciate it; it reaffirms they should be able to fold.
