Polaris Clutch Adjustment

I have a 1996 Polaris sport touring 2 up 500 fan that I would like to lower the rpms before it starts to move. I have a 2002 same model 550 fan that doesnt rev up as much as the 1996 does before moving. The 1996 drives and runs fine it just seems to rev to high to start. Any ideas? I am guessing it is all in the primary clutch and if its a big deal I will live with it the way it is.
