Polaris gas cap/gauge

I have a 2001 Classic Touring 500 with electronic gas gauge. Due to the age of this sled, dont really want to spend money getting the gas gauge fixed. Can I just add a gas cap with gauge in the cap like other Polaris's have?

My wifes 2013 Polaris Rush has the digital guage also and it always says she has 1 bar of fuel like 5 miles after filling up. Wondering if I could do the same thing with a gas cap from the Pro Ride Indy 600s? They have a traditional floater in the tank gas cap. I assume they must be the same fuel tank between the two sleds?

I have a 2010 I 600 lx
Mine flashes empty warnings after 50 mi. I use one of the trip meters and reset after every fill and look for a station at 100mi. I can get 130 to a tank.
