Probably don't have one. You can add one, take the triangular metal housing off, drill the hole needed for the threads of a grease fitting and tap it out, good to go.
Won't do much good as there is a sealed bearing used. Item #3 in attached picture.
Remove the secondary clutch, and that triangular housing to get to the bearing.
You can carefully remove the seal on the bearing to gain access to clean and re-pack the bearing.
True, but the standard driveshaft/jackshaft bearing with a grease zerk is "sealed" also.
Never had the flange off of the drive shaft (below the jackshaft) on my Polaris sleds as there is a grease fitting for that one so can't say for sure on that specific bearing, but how would you ever get grease to enter into a sealed bearing when the seals are in place?
there's a tiny hole in the bearing. When replacing the bearing, you have to line the hole up with the grease zerk.
Maybe on your sled, but my late model (IQ's) don't and by just adding a zerk to that flange isn't going to do any good. Only hole in the bearing on my sled(s) is the one that the shaft goes through.
mine has a zerk
hey guy's, I need some help. I'm trying to find the grease fitting for the jackshaft bearing on my 09 shift 600 136". The manual says nothing. Same question on my wife's 09 shift 550 fan. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, keith.
Keith,
I have a 2007 D7, no zerk,
Here's what I did:
1) Obtain a triangular flange with grease zerk from an older POLARIS
2) Obtain a bearing with the pin-hole in the outer race, (sold by POLARIS and "ALL BALLS")
