Ask her this question? How would you like your sled to perform in rough trail conditions? If she wants the lightest handling best suspension get her a 600 etec with R-Motion or a 600 Polaris Axys. If she wants to bump and bounce around like a heavy truck and be tired from doing it then get her the Yamaha. The Yamahas are good sleds for long fast straight stretches but nobody likes riding them in 20 miles of tight twisty trails with moguls. There is a reason you don't see Apex, Viper or Vector running sno cross events.
You can't beat the light handling feeling of the Ski Doo 600 or Polaris 600 sleds and they still have plenty of power to keep up with other sleds.
The 900 Ace Ski Doo is a great 4 stroke you want light steering and a four stroke. It is not a fast sled so if she likes speed go 800 or 850.
If you still want Yamaha the Vector with power steering is a good machine and the EPS starts 2011.
Apex introed P.S. in 2011, Vector 2012.
I get it, but junk trails will ruin EVERYONES day....walk into any sled crowded bar in an area where the trails are junk and I guarantee all different brands of sled owners will be complaining.
