Polaris' new Flash for 800's

Was told by my dealer who was up at the Polaris showcase that they made a VERY big deal about the new fix they have for the 800's running issues. His explanation was that Polaris was taking full responsibility and they pulled the top engineers from the water, Victory, and ATV departments to figure it out. They ran sleds for over 100,000 miles total at all elevations, under all types of driving, and have come up with what they believe is a fix. They cautioned that any changes to the sled (a can or pipes especially) will make it run differently and perhaps poorly. They had issues in the "EPA" range of the power-band. About 4,000 to 6,000 RPM's.

Guess the fix is coming out at or near the end of March. I'll go get mine done right away, and we'll see how it works out next year. Personally, the little hic-up wasn't that big a deal, but I know it really was worse for some, and there were other issues.

Regardless, glad to see they didn't give up on it, and hopefully all turns out well.

My sled has a Power Commander V and it's running great, I'm done wasting my time with Polaris and all their rediculous, time wasting reflashes. It's truly pathetic, 3 years and they still don't have a clue, my only regret is that I wish I would have bought the PC V right away. Every single reflash I've had from Poo was a disappointment, the PC V made all the difference, great product. My '09 800 has been the most disappointing sled I've ever owned and the next sled I buy will not be a Polaris. Polaris dropped the ball severely by releasing this engine to the public running the way it did, in this day and age that's unacceptable.

If you read the latest edition of Snow Tech the Poo 800 is a time bomb engine so many detailed dos & don'ts to just get the engine to run & hope for the best. I could not own an engine that is that crazy to care for or go boom. Do yourself a favor & buy something else.
