just curious why polaris bragss about the new rush, so if its so good then why havent i seen the racers use the same chassis, makes you wonder, i know that every year when cat has a new race sled they are available to the public in that chassis the next year.

I know 3 guys that bought the new rush this year and they would all be willing to sell them. They are complaining of no top end and rough engine performance.

ya, they are pretty cool looking sleds but it sure makes me wonder why they dont use that chassis for snocross, i watched winter x games and didnt see one polar with the shock under the seat, i guess that tells us its more for a friendly trail rider

Not all sled platforms are designed for racing, plus Polaris has a very good one already. I have heard nothing but good things about the Rush and I have driven one and was blown away! The engine was amazing. There will always be those that have complaints, but I sure haven't heard any. Funny this is coming from Cat guys!?

Rush platform seems good...I have not heard of any problems other than the 600 & 800 engines stumble & a lot of remapping going on. When Poo gets their 2s engines refined Rush could be a good 2s sled. Poo needs more time with 2s injected engines to get it right.

who would want to trail ride a race sled? You might think you look cool but the ride, top end, and required maintenance will stink.

Haven't heard complaints about the Rush. Seems to be a solid sled.

Snodogg - As for riding a race sled on the trails and in the backwoods, it works find if you build it right. The maintenance is really not that bad. The chassis is what I wanted. Different engine and I punched out to a 136. Light weight, fun & something to build.

I checked with my local dealer, Midcities Motorsports, They confirmed they have 4 badly performing Rush's in service. Reflashing the cpu's didn't help I guess.

They backfire, go faster at half throttle than full throttle, and run rough. Sounds like a typical Polaris engine. Not trying to bash Polaris (cause I don't really care) but isn't part of the fall ritual to take your Polaris to the dealer for a re-flash?

samc, I agree but like you said, you have to build them right. I'd rather spend my time riding and invest my money in something that hasn't been crashed over and over on the race track.

Most guys have no clue how different the race sleds are from the machines built for the consumer. It's kinda like a monte carlo raced in NASCAR isn't exactly the same car used to drop the kids off at school and pick up grocieries.

My friend bought a race sled and blew her right up, took it back to the race team he bought it from and they literaly told him "what did you expect, you bought a race sled."

Snodogg - This was a Summer project and really was not that bad on the budget or to build. The race sled I got was never raced or ridden. The new 600 engine and track were a wash from the sale of the 440 engine and the old track. The main difference is the chassis is stiffer but I've had the shocks revalved and it rides pretty nice. You learn a ton doing a project like this. It's been fun.
Like I said, the machine was built for backwoods riding mainly....

I was looking at one at tip-up last weekend that a dealer had, I'm sorry Poo guys but man that thing is ugly if it runs the way it look's I can see why there still on the showroom floor. Don't mean to bash them just my feelings.

to reply to your question fastercat. The rush is currently being used and has won 1st place in the United Stated Cross Country race ( USCC ). They are testing it out in other areas first. This sled is based more towards the more experienced ( agressive ) consumer riding style. They are refining the chassis for racing. Plus they have a proven race sled right now, if it aint broke, dont fix it.

I have 1600 miles on mine. No trouble at all. Absolutly love this thing. It rips. Really really rips. 106 on the speedo. Pulls like nothing else all the way through the rpm range. I know there are still plenty to be had but I am sure glad I have mine!!
