Polaris secondary disassembly

I'm looking in my manual and none of the clutches look like this one with 3 screws on the helix (i took the 3 screws out already, they're hex screws). I took off the snap-ring and nothing is coming apart. Is this a sign it's bad? I plan on disassembling it to clean it, put a new spring in, and put 3 new buttons in. The helix doesn't want to budge. It looks almost as if it's a different helix since none of the other ones look like this. And, on the parts finder it says there's a washer under the snap-ring and there was none.

Also, when left untouched, i measured the outer edges of the sheaves with my caliper and they're 1.994" apart. When i turn the moveable sheave, they're 2.024" apart. Shouldn't they spread more than that or not?

Get some one to help hold the helix and tap on the shaft with a block of woodI use a socket but you can damage things as well as the socket

It looks almost as if it's a different helix since none of the other ones look like this.

it was a fad a while back to remove and some even milled for more over drive

just twisting it some won't push it full open

Turns out I do have a clutch kit. I took the primary to Ray's cycle to get rebuilt, and the weights are heavier then stock. Either 62 or 64 grams instead of 60 i'm assuming. I ended up taking the secondary there, mostly because the helix won't line back up anyways.
