Polaris Service Inspection.......

I found an excellent deal on a 2011 800 Pro R last week and jumped on it. While talking with the guy I bought it from he mentioned that he just had the 1000 mile service done. Neilsens in Lake Villa performed all the work. My question is what exactly would the inspection consist of? Any one from Neilsens on this site?

Appreciate the heads up--

It's just a standard service, check the track tension, ski alignment, hyfax, carbides, chaincase, and visual inspection.

Not for certain, but should also include replacing the fuel filter.

(If I recall correctly this filter should be replaced at 1k miles, then every 2k miles thereafter.)

Make a call to Neilsens and just ask what the service costs and what is included?

My owner's manual says to change the fuel filter every 2000 miles or 2 years. I have a 2012 600, but should be the same.

Yes, but it is recommended after the first 1k miles, never know what may have been in the fuel tank when assembled-hopefully nothing, but you wouldn't want to restrict the fuel flow.

I'd replace the fuel filter right before the start of every season (High performance engineering part number 241200). For $25.00 why not and almost every blown Liberty gets blamed on the fuel filter...

other than that 1000 mile service includes Inspect a bunch of stuff, lubricating the throttle cable & the drive shaft bearings, cleaning the VES valves and replacing the fuel filter

What sled you got ?? I see no part # for the 11 or 12 model year rushes. I got a 12 800 pro r and they want upwards of 90 bucks for it. I put over 5k miles on my 2010 rush and never changed the fuel filter....

Consider yourself lucky.

To me, not worth the gamble, besides, I don't like walking back to the trailer.

I have to agree the price for the OEM Polaris part is crazy, especially for what it is.
