If you can locate someone who can install "rivnuts" , threaded insterts that lock into the metal, then you could secure the bushings with threaded festeners. We use them at work all the time. (semi truck repair bodyshop) They install like a blind rivet, you just have to have room to get the tool in there from the outside.
