Just made a low chrome windshield, took my stock cracked one, cut it in half with some snips and i put duct tape along the line where i cut so it didn't crack, then i spray painted it chrome, i think it turned out pretty cool. the bad part is, i have my low black windy that i have $8 worth of stickers on it, $15 for the mirrors, and the windshield cost me $15 where the chrome cost me nothing, but i feel like i wasted money if i don't run the black one

So, what one do you guys like?

i like my windsheild in the blackened stlye something about me and the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. I'd love to do one in red silver and black in honor of him and his colors on his race care Long live the number 3!!!!! :)

Put some spot mirrors in your hand guards and go with the low chrome. When I had my 99 I put a white windshield one on it and painted my hood vents red.

i prefer my vents blue, i want more blue on the sled than red, i got an all blue suit to match. (but a red helmet lol) i dont' have much money to spend on the sled since i just dropped 350 on a brand new ripsaw. the money i got will go to clutching and if i ever need one to keep this sled going, a motor rebuild.

Chrome, it looks a lot better without all the stickers plastered all over everything.

Aren't those low windshields cold? I agree with the others on the stickers. they make it look like a snowcross wannebee.

I used to run the short windshields in my younger days when I could take the cold.
Now I have the tallest one the Yamaha makes for the Apex plus hand guards.

I agree the taller the better especialy if you put any miles on. tall winshield do 2 things they protect you from the wind and they make the helmet noise reduced in half

Bevis & Butt-Head!?

Indy, I've got green blood, so, that sticker has got to go! LOL! Other than that, either one looks fine, though I will say, I think the chrome one looks better. I think you might find out later that a mid-height shield will be more to your liking, especially when it gets good & cold. I can appreciate your enthusiasm, keep it up. Do what you like though.-Mezz
