POO Racer help

I have a 08 IQ 600RR it's a knock off of the factory racer. Earlier this year I replaced the bad oil pump that the best & brightest couldn't fiqure out ( story for another day ). Loosened the bolts holding the motor to the mounts tilted it & replaced it. It did not look like it was adjustable as far as motor position alignment. Get the manual out it states that " the engine is mounted in the bulkhead so that the drive & driven clutches self-align". To my feeble mind that confirms what I believe, that there is not adjustment. the offset is controlled by the washers. Never the less , I send the clutches out for new springs and a " going thru " and get the springs & arms replaced. I install last night , useing the old worn, beat & stretched out belt and I have the sled taking off on me ? ? ? Adjusted the deflection way below where it is supposed to be and it still wants to creep . It seems the primary is ( put together wrong ? ) or the motor is out of alingment and I missed it ? Like I said , there doesn't look like it's adjustable , & when I installed the motor and bolted it down it appeared to seat in it's original position. OPEN for suggestions ? ANY input is appreciated, I'm kind of stumped, but I'm thinking it's the primary.

If the wrong weights were put in the primary clutch it would not open all the way.My guess is you went from 10 series to 11 series weights. With the belt in the primary clutch you should have about .060-.100 clearance from the belt to the clutch.

Thanks, I need something to measure. I don't have that clearance for sure. The manual says bubkiss. I have the primary engaged grabbing the belt. I told those guy's to order the same exact parts. I have the old weights. Let me check into that,
I called the shop and they think they got a spacer in the wrong place. I just had to ask before I called them to make sure it wasn't my stupid ARSE , normally I don't miss much but will admit to not knowing clutches too well. That will change.
Thanks Again, I do have the 10 series weights.

Was the spider removed from the primary clutch to replace the buttons? If it was then something did'nt get put back together right. If it was not removed then its a weight problem. You are using the right OEM belt ?

There are washers on the primary clutch that you can add or subtract to adjust belt to sheave clearance. You have to disassemble the spider to do this. They might have taken a washer out and forgot to put it back in. Belt to sheave clearance should be 10 thousands for best performance.

They put it together wrong, they corrected it. With a brand new belt & feeler gage I have a snug .015 ! It's has the 10-58 weights & the White / Red spring.Tough night in the "busted knuckle ". I waited all weekend till 8:00 PM Sun to put these on and then was scrambling. I 1st thought that it was stuck, then I started wondering about all my work and the m-mounts. ended up with " frazzled feeling " .... I just read the POO racer manual and can't find any spec for the belt to sheath clearance. I'm going with .010- .015. This sled from a performance standpoint is the finest handleing set-up sled from the manu we ever bought. It has about 7800 miles now. The other sled that I admire from the manu's ( which i bought ) is my buddy's 07 800 rev XRS. If your into corner burners , these 2 are my favs. Thanks for the help.

I was wrong on the specs for the belt clearance.
That's OK, I was grateful for the input. I had it done at the local 2 cycle shop, an older guy like myself runs it and a younger wipper snapper is his trainee / apprentice. From time to time they mess stuff up ( little stuff ) but we have a good relationship. It also gives the younger guy something to learn the trade with. Of course it's.... my high dollar machines that are modded to kill. But they will also help me out in a pinch , when the snow starts flying I don't have time to maintain 4 machines, nor do I know enough or have all the tools. Thanks for admitting you were mistaken, it did have me wondering and want to get all my clutch pullers out and measure them all. Things were getting pretty dicey , I had the RR jacked up , garage door open sled pointed out, cars moved out of the way so I don't pull a major " 2 cycle Michael " FU and I was taking that thing to WFO. Thinking that it was bound up or something ???? I have met ( few )people on-line besides myself that will admit err, most people just don't reply back.
Wram Regards
Mike
