Powermadd Rider Hold Tight

Looking for options to have my 8 year old daughter ride with me. I would say she will have 2-3 short rides with me this year on my Yamaha Viper and was looking at my options. The viper 2 up seat is pricey - OEM is around $550, Seat Jack $350, Kimpex $435. I have had 2 different model seat jacks - one for my Apex which worked great and one for my Nytro that never fit quite right. So I did a search and came up with one of the powermadd hold tight - not a seat be a better way to hang on. Neither me or my daughter are big people and the Viper seat is big enough to keep both are rears on the seat. Any thoughts on this one way or another?

If my child were to ride with me, I would want them to have the best safety measure, I dont' think I would want to count on them hanging on to me, one wrong bump or curve and pop there they go, to me $550 is priceless, just my .02

Used this once many years ago. Issue was, there was no way my son knew we were about to slow down because he couldn't see ahead, so everytime on decel, my son's helmet
would smack the bottom of the back of my helmet.
Having a dedicated seat that is a bit raised made his ride 100% more enjoyable.

I started riding with my dad when I was 3 and I have had my kids riding with me since they were ~3, always in front of the driver. It is challenging to ride with the kids in front of you, but if you want them to enjoy the ride and become a sledding buddy for life, put them up front where they can see what is going on and start learning how to help you steer and lean.

Our kids have been riding with us since they were 4. They road in front until they were to tall and then we purchased a back rest and bolted onto the sled. The wife and I both ride long track but haven't had any issues bolting on the back rest to the sleds (usually goes on the wife's). We got the last two from Discount Ramps for $49.00. Our oldest is on her own sled finally but our 11 yr old still rides behind and the back rest works great. Can't wait until he can ride on his own.

When my wife rides with me, she prefers to ride with the "belt" as we call it. I have offered to get the optional rear seat, but after riding on a two-up rental sled, she prefers riding tighter to the center of gravity.
