Preventative Maintenance

It’s about that time. Getting the sled pulled out of storage soon and taking her to the shop for pre-season maintenance. Any advice/ tips on items that might be getting worn out on my 2008 RMK (carb) with 1600 miles. I know the normal stuff like cleaning the carbs and stuff like that (boots were recently replaced). My shop is decent, but they don’t really suggest anything that might be going out that would be good to replace now rather than waiting for it to fail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

If it has never been done remove rear suspension and check all wheels. Also check all shafts for straightness and make sure nothing is rusted so the suspension works as it should. Also a good time to replace the driveshaft bearings. You don't have that many miles but time is just as much as an enemy as miles. I do this every year but I am a little anal. I ride alone a lot and can't have problems out in the sticks.

I'm with grub on this, also check your steering heim joints (for play) Lost one last yr, made it back to camp on bailing wire & a prayer. I also empty all gas & lines / pump every yr. Prob ready for new clutch springs.
