Price gouging? Is this normal practice?

brakes are for woosies.

Hah! Thats what I thought until I rode for a while without brakes. Made me realize how much I use them and didn't really think I did. It's that last 5 feet or so when you need to come to a complete stop. Especially at road crossing on the trail. Even in deep snow off trail it was an issue. I got by without, but had one pretty good hit to a tree that would have been minimized with brakes. Luckily no damage, just a good stuck.

If this is the "unsaid dealer" I'm thinking of, well lets put it this way, a few years back I needed work done on a sled while in Calumet, I could of drove less then 15 miles to them....but instead drove 98 to see Mark at Timberline....think that speaks for itself....

My nephew was up last summer to Twin Lakes and got a flat on his CamAm 650. Went to the nearest CanAm dealer and they no could fix the tire, said it was shot, did not have any replacement but they did happen to have a set of custom wheels and tires they tried to sell him for over $2,000. Went to another place nearby and they fixed the tire and commented that whoever told you the tire could not be fixed was full of BS. Never had a problem with the repair.

Thats a perfect example of either a worthless mechanic or service manager. OR a dealer that cares more about making $$ then making a potentional customer happy.

the dealer i worked at we treated everyone as tho they walked in for a spark plug and possibly could be leaving with 4 new sleds. you help customers with the simple things and chances are they will be back and maybe even bring friends back.

I think dealers up there (some not all....) feel that everyone is up there just that one weekend and wont be back so why spend the effort to help them, they would rather help themselves.
