Pro Seat on IQ

Figured I'd post this up for anyone whose interested. I did some research, or should I say came up empty handed with my research on this swap. I knew the front mount brackets on the tank were the same. Couldn't find anyone who tried it. Picked it up from Skylar this morning, he was nice enough to meet me half way, thanks again! Got home, front fits nice and snug against the tank bracket. Drilled new holes for under seat support. it fits pretty decent just needs some support underneath the seat. I think I'm going to make a bracket out of aluminum for the mid section as it sags an inch when you sit on it. I might try a tank off an 09/10 with the lightweight freestyle seat, those tanks were built to be exposed. Not positive but I think this seat might be identical to the "RMK" lightweight freestyle seat??? Either way I'm happy and LOVE how it looks!

Looks good and maybe it will give you some more storage area too. Is the seat taller than the IQ seat?

I don't think its really any taller, just skinnier and A LOT LIGHTER! It isn't a direct bolt on, needs support underneath but I can either fix that or get a newer tank. For now, I'm not sure on how to make the newer tank work as the carbed ones had an in tank fuel pump and cfi had in tank electric fuel pump and my tank doesn't have either... THey had a large nut ($35) and larger gasket ($35) to hold the fuel pumps in, I could possibly make a block off plate and tighten the nut over it?
