ProCross 2 Up Seat

I am in search of someone that has a 2 up seat for a procross chassis that they would like to part with. I have a viper, but either AC or Yam seat will work. I'll be at Haydays on the Saturday and could meet up.

I've tried sending a couple private messages but they're not working for me so if you're sending something maybe I'm not getting it...

Anybody else having problems with this feature?

I just replied, I must still be have PM issues when sending message. None of my sent message show up in my sent box. Here is the short version of what I set you.

Glad you found a seat. I was using my with my son for the past few years. We liked it but I defiantly can offer some tips. You have my email I try to attach pictures here too.

Are you using it for an adult or child?
Watch you total weight you might want to upgrade your rear springs to the "Two-up springs".

Do you plan on taking it on and off your sled?
That's the other thing you might want to do it make some quick disconnect pins and toss the bolts that they give you. I took some aluminum tent stakes and bent them to the shape I wanted and them secured them with a small velcro strap. Basically an L with a slight bend at the top to keep the velcro strap in place.

Last thing to think about is cold passenger hands. Battery operated gloves work great but only last so long. I have the FXR and my son would use mine at the end of the day. (Yes they were huge on him. LOL) What worked best was "Gears" heated hard wired glove inserts. but you have to deal with the cord. He had to keep them on low!

Thanks for the tips! I am going to use it with my girlfriend who is about 150lbs, and I am about the same weight. I don't plan to take huge trips with it, more just a little comfort with the back rest for the occasional times that she goes with me. I have a pig tail off the back side for my battery tender, and I am hoping to get the heated grips option that they have for these seats too eventually. When you say take on and off, does it bolt into the bumper through it? I can't really tell from pictures. I could see it being a pain then trying to slide a wrench in and out everytime since the cover doesnt fit on it for trailering.

TL rent a 2up or rent her own sled. Ruffin it doesn’t work for the ladies if you want them to enjoy Sleddin. Of course up to you and maybe she’s not the one but happy wife , happy girl friend pays off big time!

When I take bigger trips up north I do rent one for her, but alot of times we will go out for a couple hours near my house, and this seat is going to make that much more enjoyable!

Sorry, for the delay in posting I'm having lots of trouble with the site some days I can login but when I go to post it say I do not have permission to preform that action... Other days I get a halfway readable post like above. The rest of the time I get what you see over on the GPS post.

You will want something for heat. If you go the route of the hand warmers I suggest the handle gantlets. I would really look in to the Gears heated glove inserts. They can move with her to any sled she has. If your good with only 3-4 hrs of heat or dont mind buying extra batteries then get the battery operated gloves. Buy name brand not the cheep knock off from Amazon.

You have my email in a PM, I can send you pictures if you need anything else.
Oh I forgot yes the seat has bolts that go though the bumper. Plus the way the seat is designed it sits a little high compared to the mounting holes. So to put it on you have to put weight on the seat to have the holes line up. The push pins are the easiest by far. Some type for restating strap will make it so they will not come out. The Velcro worked great for me.

Lastly the highest load rating for stock springs is 240lbs so you will want to increase the springs. Don't go to high or it will be to stiff of a ride for you when you are by yourself.

So do those tent stakes just go in the cross holes for the bolt? I have not be able to find a picture or video showing someone putting the seat together. Of course Polaris and Ski doo have great stuff, but AC lagging as usual. Does the seat move around alot since it doesn't have bolts to secure it or is that just me imagining?

Hopefully the pictures I posted above are coming through for others (I see them, LOL). You should be able to see how it attaches. But yes they just slide through the bumper at the bottom of the seat post. It is a very tight and sold feel. Honestly, it just like having a 2 up. There was no wiggle.

You know I looked back at them closer now and can see the side holes in the bumper for the tent stakes. I have velcro straps on hand so I will just bend them the same way as you and tighten em up.

If I remember correctly I took the full stake bent the "L" shape then placed it in the sled and marked it to the get the proper length. (I dont think the bend that was in the tent stake was long enough.) Then cut off the ends. I also chamfered the ends by sanding them a bit to make it easier to slide in.

Oh one other thing was I took a back pack tighten the straps as tight as that would go. The put it on the back rest, then use a Velcro strap around the two shoulder straps to make it so that could not slide off the backrest. We had lots of room for extras gloves water bottles snacks, etc. I used my regular Medium size bag that came with most sleds to hold my belt, tools and other things. I'll try posting a picture in another post.

You've been a huge help! I have that exact same bag, so its good to know I'll still be able to access it under the seat. Good to see it setup on a 129 too. I am contemplating welding a square piece to the tent stake and then just drilling a hole through that and the support arm where I could slide a bolt through. Would be easy to put together in a parking lot and is more secure IMO.

Glad I could help.

It defiantly would be more secure, I like the idea. Once you get the seat and see it mounted and how the tent stake pins go in you will see even the Velcro is over kill. I've had it for 3 years, one year I could not ride due to back surgery. Then take out the trips without the seat on and I have put around 1000 miles plus with the seat on. I'm going to have to see what my other sleds odometer says for mileage that would match to when this seat was being used. The guy I got the idea for the pins was just using rubber bands. He said he would keep a few extras because they would break. I actual thought about a woman's hair tie as well, but had the Velcro straps and that worked well. I could just see my son going down a bumpy trail and flying off the back all because a rubber band broke. LOL
