mtn max pics

the old Mtn Max needs some more red in there somewhere, not sure just what but looking for suggestions. Not sure if I like the wind screen on or off. I do not need the screen but it does keep a little wind off me on the trail ride home. Next project starting tomorrow is the pipes and jetting. Probably grab another rack of carbs for 10,000 ft and current set for elevation. Shoot me some comments please.

Looks awesome! How do you like the skis for off trail and on trail?Trying to decide what to put on my 03 Summit.

I really like these skis a lot. They didn't offer the 8" Gen3 model when I got these and the next set will be the Gen3. Around the UP you really do not get the long run side hilling and I see no need for a powerhounds or the latest mtn ski. These skis are great trail ski and nice off trail ski. The easy of turning when going through the woods and up through the trees is easy on the arms. Certainly not as good at holding a line sidehilling but like I said I have not felt like the skis have me at a disadvantage,,now out west, could be totally different story.

just ordered a small graphics kit with red, white. Going for the subtle accents, not to much red.

Hood looks great. I put a hex on myself telling you everybody I know with a mountain max has snapped their steering post.Because I went out today 7 miles into the woods and I snapped mine couldn't believe it. LOL

I cleaned up the pipes today and painted them, look great. Kip hooked me up with another bank of carbs that I can set for 10,000 ft and swap them over instead of re-jetting every time I change elevation. I also had a warped brake rotor, again, Kip hooked me up. I work tomorrow but Thurs and fri I will do the parts swap. Gonna have to pull the chain case to change rotors. Also, I do not like my bars and am gonna get a less ride set of bars. Pics to come Thurs.

I think it looks great! I love the stealth look and would add no more red, in fact, anything that is red I would make black and install the windshield. All black!! It would look awesome IMO!

I cant change the skis, I like em to much and the red is swirled into the plastic. I already ordered a small graphics set and will try the red, if it don't work I'll yank it off. Leave windshield on?

That looks sick nasty. I ride a 2002 srx triple that sounds awesome, but man is it a beast to move around. I can't even imagine throwing it around in dem backwoods? Is the mtn max lighter or are you getting a nice workout

sorry,,I didn't see your question. No, the Mtn max is not to bad to throw around because it does not have a real low center of gravity, which I like. No doubt it is heavier than a modern chassis but still a fun sled with plenty of power now.

Now today I just located a 153 skid from Kip and a new track. I plan to buy a VanAmburg U cooler and get ride of my foot board coolers, cut the foot boards out and install some custom footbords.
