Not much of a wrencher. Only if I have to be. What is this doo - whacker called ? I'm guessing it has a filter of some type inside that could clog reducing fuel flow. Can it be takin apart and cleaned ? DSC_0336.JPG

It's the fuel pump, no filters of any kind inside. It would take an excessive amount of gunk to clog it up but it's possible.

I have seen them get water in them but never clogged. The fuel filter is just ahead of the pump. That will clog long before the pump. If you do take it apart be careful not to wreck the diaphragm.

the diaphragm could be junk ?
are all the fuel lines you see in good condition ? cracks or loose fitting could be reducing flow . a filter before fuel pump ? or bad pump all together

It's a 97 440 Panther . Under 3000 miles. Never did much maint on it. Add some stabil and start a few times over the summer for the past 20 yrs.. I now use it mostly for ice fishing. It would only fire up for couple seconds after pouring gas into each cylinder so I thought something may be clogged.

Upon further checking - lines are good and gas is getting to the carbs. So I think the carbs are prob gummed up and need cleaned.

btw - that pic is not from my sled.
