Pro's and con's from 2010 f-8 owners

I have 450 miles on my F8 Sno Pro so I can't really give you a full report since I was taking it easy breaking it in. The things I know for sure is it has a ton of torque all the way to 80(when I tried it a couple times). My arms were soar from working the flipper and hanging on at the end of the day . I put Bergstrom triple points with shims and it handled great on the trails. I really don't need to talk about how comfortable. AC's are.

Like always, the windshield needs replaced with a mid-high. It probably isn't the best on gas and oil but it is comparable with th 09,s.

I'm not sure on the top end as it isn't broke in yet. I weigh 250 with gear and the twin-spar will make it interesting in regards to that. One thing for sure though, the HORSEPOWER is there!!

Best trail sled I have ever owned hands down!

I ride with a someone that has n F8. It has IMO , a great rear suspension, comfy seat, steers real easy and has decent power for an 800. I have only ridden it a couple of times. Its not much to look at IMO, but seems to do many things well.

I'm not a F8 owner but I was able to test drive a F8 SP during demo days. Went on about a 12 mile ride. I thought that 800 rocked!!! And that twin spar chassis handles like a dream. The front and rear suspensions just ate up the bumps. A very comfortable sled. If I could afford it I'd retire the Cougar and have one of those for trail riding.

F8 is a "comfy" sled to ride. My new rush kicked the poo out of it though. I let my buddie ride my rush after making a fool of him and he agreed that the F8 was a "old man sled" and that he would own a rush!! Nice sled, yes. Agressive, no.

I am heading to the UP tomorrow so I will be purposely looking for one of these to run me since it's broken in now. (This is if I can find one because I have yet to see one of these personally in the 4 days I was sledding in Munising over MLK weekend). Maybe that was because they were reflashing them during this time. I find it hard to believe a Rush 600 can "kick the poo" out of a 2010 F8 which has the documented over 160 hp?? I know the Twin Spar will scrub some speed but I find this hard to believe. Sounds like driver error to me. I could be wrong though.

Yeah right Rush 600 walking a 2010 F8 .....was F8 in reverse? lol Posts like this just kill me. 600s don't run with 800s any brand.

I don't own and F-8 but I have the new HO800 in the Crossfire chassis. I can attest that the new 800 is a ripper for sure. I spools quickly, had a very responsive torque band and good pull all the way up. I am getting just over 13mpg on the trail (spinning a bigger heavier track than an f-sled) and loving every whack of the flipper.

I did a few top end runs and it was pulling up past 105 on the speedo. Did one run with the GPS in my pocket and let off just at 100 on the speedo, GPS said 97 and still climbing. Not bad for my 141x1.6 track and deeper gears. I have seen people posting 110+ on the GPS with the XFR sleds.

I read that as meaning the Rush was way better in terms of handling and bumps as opposed to in a drag race. I could be wrong though

They're definitely getting better...my '07 F6 short track only gets about 12mpg at best.

The F8 always had better mileage than the F6 if you were in the throttle. The F6 will last forever though. It always surprised us when we put more gas into the F6.

Shoelessjoe, the Crossfire is actually a little faster than the F8 in any kind of loose snow or stutters. The ride on the F8 is something though. The ride is so comfortable that it can make you lazy. The 2010 800 mill is much stronger and more linear in power. The 2010 F8 can give you another 5-8 mph on top end vs previous year sleds in stock form.

I should at that I am at just over 13mpg with only 300 miles on the sled so far, it should (in theory) get a little bit better.

Came off of an 02 Edge with pipes, head, reeds etc and was lucky to get 10mpg if babying it on the trails so I was really happy at the first gas stop with the new sled.

Not many kids can lay out $13 clams for a high flier sled...Kids can't afford the more expensive sleds...so what's wrong with "an old man sled"??? You just described anything that doesn't have a fan in it!

If you ride Twistys all day long 600s are great engines good trail spinners. If you want legs in the straights, want to pull hard after 75mph or cruise at high speed on lakes & wide open UP trails then you want an 800. 800 150ish hp... 600 120 to 125ish hp. For me I have to have 140 hp min to be happy so better off with 800. Once you go 800 not attractive to go back to 600 no matter the sled package you miss the snap of the 800 thru power band. That is why guys waited for 800 Rush 600 not enough for some.
