Ive got a 06 600H.O. and finally the carb boots needed replaced this year, as far as that goes I havent had to do any of the other Fusion upgrades... I have nothing but good things to say about mine...SLP Pipe, SLP Can and SLP air intake and no I didnt gut the air box and I still run 420 mains..... 102mph on a good hard pack.... bottom line from me is, if it isnt broke dont fix it. Best of luck to you, I have zero complaints.

What needs to be greased on steering post? I never even looked at that.

Has a "U" joint that if you remove the air box you will be able to see. Had one lock up on my son...thankful it was in a restaurant parking lot. If locks up the skis will not turn, or become extremely difficult to turn. Previous post says if it isn't broke don't fix it...well I disagree. This is technically a 9 year old sled, hard to believe. If you are going 102 you should hope everything works. All that I have posted is either a recall or happened to me, or lack of dealing with recall caused a negative result. I personally would prefer some preventative maintenance verse waiting for it to happen, especially if my two teenage son's are driving their own Fusion 600's.

I have only sprayed mine with lube each year - over 7k on it without issue. Now getting to the bottom of the steering post to lube the heim's on the bottom = almost impossible. I go through the boot on the sidewall for that.

I used WD-40 when mine locked up in a restaurant parking lot. That was because I had nothing else. Then I realized that WD-40 is a degreaser and may remove all the grease. I have used purple Polaris lube since and have not had one lock up since I include it in my pre season maintenance. .

I use a PB Blaster spray lube. I stay away from WD-40. I found it gums. Seen way to many people use that on shotguns and wonder why they jam.

My question is how to get the air box off? I also have a 2008 shift 600 and the air box removes easily. The heads are different from the two years. On the 2006 the box hits the head where the coolant enters the head. Thanks for any help. And yes I have the voltage reg going bad on this one again. Someone needs to make a after market replacement for that sled.

The air box is the worst thing about that sled. I pull up on the carb's which allows the bottom of the airbox slip past the support bracket located on the back side bottom of the box. Careful inspection of the carb boots after you do that is required. Those going bad are known to cause more burn downs than any other cause.

Best thing to do is gut the air box or get the slp air horn kit, which is more work. Then you can reach your hands in and make sure the boots are on right.

I think the revised regulator works fine and lasts.

Both the air box and the regulator I think are problems they fixed on later versions of that chassis.

I think I said it earlier but can't say it enough - keep an eye on the carb boots. At least the original version was prone to failure. Should have been a recall not an update.
